History[]

Yuk Tin Limited tendered for a group of 2 new GMB routes 404M and 405 in 1992[1] and commenced service in 1993.

Route 404M is the sole public transport route running between Gin Drinkers Bay and the industrial area, which has the advantage of monopoly. On the other hand, routes 405 series has a poor patronage, with the main route overlapping with KMB Route 42, which was reduced to operate only during weekday peak hours on 5 November 2012, and the branch route 405A, which was discontinued in 2000 due to the closure of the ferry service between Tsing Yi and Central, and overlaps with the similarly aligned route 409, which later turned service-less. On 22 December 2008, the service was officially cancelled.

On 9 August 2017, the first two 19-seater green minibuses in Hong Kong entered service, one of which (UY3936) is operated by Yuk Tin and mainly serves on route 404M at present.[2]
