Yu Chui Court Public Transport Interchange (愉翠苑公共運輸交匯處 , Citybus Location Code YUC) is located on the ground floor of Yu Chui Shopping Centre, 2 Ngau Pei Sha Street, Yuen Chau Kok, Sha Tin District, New Territories, adjacent to Yu Chui Court, Prima Villa, MTR City One Station and Alva Hotel By Royal.

History

Yu Chui Court, built on the original site of Yuen Chau Kok Temporary Housing Area, originally had 18 home ownership buildings. In January 2000, during the inspection of the construction project of Yu Chui Court, which was about to be flattened, Housing Authority staff discovered that two of the blocks (Block D and Block E) had serious settlement problems. After investigation, it was confirmed that there were short piles. Due to serious structural problems that could not be repaired, the authorities decided in March 2000 to demolish the two problematic buildings that had reached 34 floors and build a leisure park on the original site. The incident attracted public attention, with the Independent Commission Against Corruption found that the contractor was involved in corruption, and those involved have been sentenced.

The remaining 16 buildings in Yu Chui Court were not affected by the short piling problem and were occupied in 2001. The bus terminus attached to the housing estate was also opened in 10 August of the same year, and the franchised bus routes were moved in 11 November, replacing the function of Yuen Chau Kok Bus Terminus. The terminus is close to Prince of Wales Hospital, City One Shatin, Siu Lek Yuen Industrial Estate, and KMB Sha Tin Depot.

Terminus Layout

Yu Chui Court Public Transport Interchange, located underground at Yu Chui Shopping Centre, is equipped with six sets of passenger waiting platforms and vehicle parking spaces, arranged at an oblique angle to Ngau Pei Sha Street outside the stop. Vehicles must enter the terminus via Cui Yan Street between Prima Villa and Yu Chui Shopping Mall. When leaving the stop, exit the westbound lane of Ngau Pei Sha Street at the southeast end of the interchange.

The regulator's room, staff lounge and other facilities of this stop are located at the southeast corner of the interchange. When the stop was opened, it was once home to the KMB Canteen, which continued to operate until 31 October 2016, and was finally taken over by the bus company.
