Yan Po Road Public Transport Interchange (欣寶路公共交通交匯處, Citybus Location Code CTI)[2] is an open-air parallel platform bus terminus located opposite Jade Villa (252-253 Siu Hang Tsuen), Siu Hang Tsuen, Yan Po Road, Ching Tin, Tuen Mun, New Territories, next to Ching Sin House, Ching Tin Estate.
It is named "Yan Po Road Public Transport Interchange" (欣寶路公共運輸交匯處) by MTR Bus and "Ching Tin Estate" (菁田邨) by other bus companies.
History[]
The public housing project in Tuen Mun Area 54 commenced construction in 2014 with five sites to be completed in phases from 2017 to 2025 [3]. A public transport interchange would be provided to meet the traffic demand generated by the project.
The public housing along Yan Po Road would be completed in 2021 at the earliest. The newly-commenced Route A34 and the rerouted Route NA33, which were introduced to tie in with the opening of the Tuen Mun Chek Lap Kok Tunnel Road, would be the first to serve Yan Po Road by the end of 2020, and the stop was opened on 28 December 2020. At that time, LWB followed the Government and named the stop "Yan Po Road".
The public housing project in Tuen Mun Area 54 was eventually named Ching Tin Estate in March 2021 and is expected to be ready for occupation in 2022. In response to the additional passenger demand arising from the development, the Transport Department (TD) proposed in the 2019-2020 Bus Route Plan to introduce five new peak-hour bus routes between Sheung Shui (Tin Ping Estate)/Kowloon Station/Kwun Tong Ferry Pier/Wan Chai North/Sai Wan Ho (Tai On Street) and one whole-day route to/from Tuen Mun Station respectively, and on August 3, 2021, TD announced the bidding of all the six bus routes by Citybus (Franchise I). [4]
The routes eventually commenced service in 2022, but due to the temporary closure of the terminus, all Citybus routes except Route 955 were temporarily terminated at Tong Hang Road until mid-October.
In May 2022, LWB renamed this stop as "Ching Tin Estate" (菁田邨).
