Sure Ascent International Investment Limited (保升國際投資有限公司) is a green minibus operator that operates two GMB routes in Tseung Kwan O since 14 February 2011.
The company's hotline is 2764 8283, and according to the information on "Online Yellow Pages", the company that owns the hotline is CTOD Association Company Limited (城市的士車主司機聯會)[1].
History[]
On 26 August 1994, the Transport Department (TD) invited open tender for the Passenger Service Licence (PSL) rights for 21 new GMB routes in 8 groups, one of which was the route between Choi Wan Estate and Kowloon Bay.[2] The PSL rights were awarded to Set Main Development Limited (實明發展), which was numbered as 68 and commenced service on 10 October 1995.
On 16 July 2010, TD invited open tender for two groups of GMB routes, one of which comprised two routes to and from the Tseung Kwan O Industrial Estate.[3] Sure Ascent International was awarded the right to operate the aforementioned group of routes, numbered 112M (daytime route) and 112S (overnight route), which commenced service on 14 February 2011 in the morning or late at night.[4]
Response from bus fans[]
When Sure Ascent International launched two green minibus routes, 112M and 112S, the English misspelling of "Green Mine bus" was shown in the route leaflet, which was a disgrace to bus fans.[5]
After the above two routes came into service, the above misspelling has not been corrected. Some bus fans found that apart from the typos on the route maps, there were no route signs on the fleet cars on the inaugural day, and only an A4-sized cardboard sign was used to indicate the destinations.[6]
