Hong Kong Buses Wiki

The New Territories Residents' Bus Route NR93 is operated by Kwoon Chung Motors Limited (Passenger Service Licence (PSL) No. 3658A) under Kwoon Chung Bus. It runs between Fairview Park and Yuen Long (On Shun Street) (Yuen Long Hui), via Yuen Long Station and Yuen Long Main Road.

Of all 7 residents' bus routes serving Fairview Park, only Routes NR93 and NR94 provide whole-day services.

History[]

This route is one of the first residents' bus routes in Hong Kong. In May 1982, the Transport Department issued a residential coach service licence to the operator, approving Hang Cheong Hing Development Company Limited to operate Route "68R" with a fare of $2.0.[1][2]

Good Funds Service, a subsidiary of Kwoon Chung Bus, took over Route 68R in June 1998 and renumbered it as 93R.[3]

  • 1 May 2007: No longer detoured via the whole housing estate before returning to the terminus following the launching of shuttle bus routes 1 and 2.
  • 1 May 2020: Joined the Public Transport Fare Subsidy Scheme, and the eligibility of half-fare concession for children aged 12 or below and elderly aged 65 or above was changed to Fairview Park residents only. The operator was also changed from Good Funds Service Limited to Kwoon Chung Motors Limited (Passenger Service Licence (PSL) No. 3658A) of the same series.
  • 1 October 2020: No longer detoured via Yuen Long (East) for On Shun Street direction and was replaced by a stop outside YOHO Mall I on Castle Peak Road - Yuen Long to facilitate the property expansion works at Yuen Long Station.[4][5]
  • 2 April 2023: Joined the Public Transport Fare Concession Scheme for the Elderly and Eligible Persons with Disabilities.
