The One Bus (港澳一號) is a Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge cross-boundary coach route operated by One Bus Hong Kong Macau Limited (港澳1號直通巴士有限公司) between Jordan Station and The Venetian Macao.
History[]
The company was formed in 2017 by a number of experienced members of Hong Kong's transport and tourism industry, including Eternal East Bus Company Limited (E&E Bus), China Ferry Terminal Services Limited, Manulife Limited, etc., and veteran businessman Kwok Pak Nin (郭百年), with the aim of providing quality cross-boundary passenger transport services to the people of Hong Kong and Macau. Buses run non-stop between Jordan Station and The Parisian Macao, only stopping midway for customs and immigration formalities at the border.
The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge was opened to traffic at 9am on 24 October 2018, with a total of 38 daily trips between Kwun Tong (apm) and Macau. Tickets were sold two days in advance (22 October) from 7am, and a kick-off ceremony was held at 8am at apm on the day of the bridge's opening. 600 people were invited to depart from Kwun Tong in the morning and board 13 buses in separate groups to Macau.[2]
- 4 December 2018: Due to the low ridership of 60% to 70% in the first month of service, the first departure time of both Hong Kong and Macau was advanced by one hour, and the headways were adjusted in different time slots.[3]
- 16 March 2019: As many passengers have reported that it is more convenient to board the bus in Kowloon West, the Hong Kong terminus has been relocated to Jordan Station (505 Canton Road) and adjusted to 16 round trips per day, and terminated the partnership with E&E Bus.[4] The existing service between Kwun Tong and Macau will be provided by E&E Bus's own Kwun Tong (apm)-Macau service.[5]
- 5 May 2019: In response to the increase in passenger volume, the frequency was increased to 24 round trips per day and moved to Elements as the starting point,[6] while officially joining the Hong Kong-Macao Express team.[7][8]
- 25 March 2020: Service suspended due to the outbreak of novel coronavirus (COVID-19 pandemic).
- 16 January 2023: Service resumed with 20 daily return trips and the Hong Kong terminus moved back to Jordan Station.
- 20 August 2023: Changed to stop at The Londonder Macao and terminate at The Venetian Macao. [9]
