North Point (Pak Fuk Road) (北角（百福道）) bus terminus is located on the ground floor of the North Point Market Building on Pak Fuk Road, North Point, Eastern District, outside the North Point Public Library, opposite to Bedford Gardens, Tanner Hill Methodist School and Healthy Village Playground, and on the roadside of the section of Pak Fuk Road eastbound between Healthy Street West and Healthy Street Central.
In the past, the bus stop outside the main entrance of the North Point Public Library was a green minibus terminus for Route 18 to Hang Hau (North), while Cross-Harbour Bus Route 112 had been using the rear of the minibus terminus, which has been abandoned since the cessation of Route 18 in September 2012, and the terminus of Route 112 was relocated forward in January 2013 to occupy a section of Pak Fuk Road opposite the North Point Market.
History[]
Cross Harbour Bus Route 112 was extended to North Point in 1975, and the number of vehicles used by the route was so large that there were no more play-bys at the terminus of the North Point Ferry Terminal, so Pak Fuk Road, where the traffic flow was relatively low, was used as the terminus; Healthy Street Central, which was set up for the same reason, was only one street away from the terminus, and both were on-street bus termini.
Due to the construction of the Mass Transit Railway (MTR) Island Line, the stop was temporarily closed in the mid-1980s, during which the terminus of Route 112 at North Point was temporarily relocated to Marble Road.
With the opening of the Eastern Harbour Crossing in 1989, New Territories GMB Route 18 to Tseung Kwan O New Town was introduced in September 1992, terminating at the end of this stop near the North Point Public Library. After the commissioning of the MTR Tseung Kwan O Line, the service ceased at the end of August 2012 due to low patronage.
Due to the extremely high frequency of Cross-Harbour Bus Route 112, more than 5 buses were often parked at this stop at the same time, causing serious traffic congestion, the stop sign and boarding location of this route was moved forward by 30 metres from 3 January 2013 to outside the Library, which was the former minibus stop.
