The New Territories Green Minibus (GMB) Route 812 is operated by Rock Smart Development Limited (樂聰發展有限公司) (Passenger Service Licence (PSL) No. 14452C). It runs between Shui Chuen O and Hin Keng, via Sha Tin Wai Station, Jat Min Chuen, Chun Shek Estate, Tai Wai Station and Lung Hang Estate.

History[]

  • 6 June 2014: The Transport Department (TD) invited open tenders for the right to operate eight new GMB routes in six groups, this route and Route 813 was grouped as a same series.[1][2]
  • 30 August 2015: Route 812 entered service.[3]
  • 4 July 2016: The last departure time was delayed from 22:30 to 23:05.[4][5]
  • 13 March 2017: Special trips to Hin Keng omitting Yan Chuen House between 06:30-08:30 from Shui Chuen O Public Transport Interchange on Mondays to Fridays were introduced, with 20-minute intervals.[6]
  • 1 December 2017: Detoured via Tin Sam Street and Hung Mui Kuk Road for Hin Keng direction, omitting the section of Che Kung Miu Road outside Festival City.[7][8]
  • 22 December 2021: Real-time Arrival Information System was introduced to this route.[9]
  • 9 January 2023: Departures between 06:30-08:30 and 11:50-16:30 on Monday to Friday school days detoured via Pok Chuen Street near TWGHs Tsoi Wing Sing Primary School.[10]

  • Passengers must use the same Octopus Card to pay the fare for both the minibus and MTR to enjoy the above-mentioned interchange concession.
  • Passengers can enjoy the above transfer discount at any MTR station / minibus stop that connects to the second leg of the route.
  • The MTR ride does not apply to Light Rail, Airport Express, Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong High-Speed Rail, MTR Bus and MTR Feeder Bus services.
  • The MTR interchange concession only applies to paid rides. Unless otherwise specified, passengers using the Monthly Pass Enhanced Version or Disneyland Line Monthly Ticket (including those who have paid First Class Supplementary Fare) cannot enjoy this concession when taking the MTR at designated stations; however, if Enhanced Monthly Pass or Disneyland Resort Line Monthly Ticket holders take paid rides outside the designated stations, the concession still applies.
  • If passengers have just used the same Octopus Card for the Airport Express "Free MTR Connection," they cannot simultaneously enjoy the MTR interchange concession.
  • If both "MTR Fare Saver" and "MTR Interchange Concession" are applicable, passengers can only enjoy one of the higher discounts.
  • Higher concession amounts are available for certain GMB routes at designated MTR stations.

According to the Transport Department's Schedule of Services, this route and Route 812A are served by a total of 12 minibuses with 16 or 19 seats. The combined capacity of the two routes is not less than 96 passengers per direction during the peakiest hour.
