Ridership[]

According to data from Transport Department, the daily ridership for the route group to which this route belongs is as follows:

  • Early 2019: 3,200 passengers.[8]

Lost trips[]

In 2020, some drivers driving this route revealed that since the occupation of Shui Chuen O Estate and the operation of KMB Route 288, the patronage of this route had dropped sharply from over 500 to less than 100 per day, and the operator had even reduced the frequency of trips privately by reducing the number of buses dispatched from three to one, with one trip only being made once every 30-40 minutes[9]. In reply to a complaint lodged by the then Pok Hong District Councillor, Mr Sunny Chiu, about the route, the Transport Department (TD) said that it had conducted 24 site surveys between June 2018 and May 2020, seven of which reflected lost trips and under-deployment of vehicles on the route, with the longest frequency being 50 minutes. The Department has documented the situation and strictly required the operator to operate the route in compliance with the established frequency and vehicle deployment[10]. According to Chiu, although sporadic complaints were received during the initial period after the re-routing of the route, they were not related to the frequency of the service. Chiu also quoted the Transport Department's claim that two minibuses would operate on the route after the re-routing of the route, but according to his observation, in reality, only one minibus was running, while the other one was only parked at the terminus.[11]
