The New Territories Green Minibus Route 803 is operated by Kwok Chung Motor Car (Passenger Service Licence (PSL) No. 5622C). It runs between Hin Keng (Hin Tin Estate) and Lee On.
History[]
- 6 November 1992: The Transport Department invited tenders of 12 groups with 19 new green minibus routes, with this route and route 804 and 805S were grouped into the same series.[1]
- 21 December 1993: Route 803 entered service.
- 25 June 2021: Real-time Arrival Information System was introduced to this route. [2]

Minibus deployments[]
According to the Transport Department's Schedule of Services, this route and route 803Kshould be served by a total of 31 light buses. 16 of them are 19-seater minibus. Two routes have a total capacity of not less than 176 passengers in each direction during the busiest hour.
In the early days of this route, Mitsubishi Rosa minibuses were used to serve, but they were retired.
Currently New Territories Routes 803 series/804 and 810 series under Kwok Chung Motor Car have a total of 54 minibuses, including 13 of 16-seater minibuses and 41 of 19-seater minibuses. Some part of minibuses can support Route 805S. List:

Ridership[]
The route runs along the east bank of the Shing Mun River through the north and south of Sha Tin, passing the Shatin Hospital, Shek Mun and many housing estates and schools, and is crowded with passengers from morning to night. Although the Ma On Shan Rail (now part of the Tuen Ma Line) was commissioned at the end of 2004, the number of passengers did not fluctuate too much as they had to interchange or walk for at least 20 minutes to travel to and from Hin Tin at that time.
However, after the commissioning of the Tuen Ma Line Phase 1 in 2020, Hin Tin residents will be able to walk to Hin Keng Station and take the MTR directly. According to minibus drivers who drive this route, the number of passengers has dropped by nearly two-thirds, and the frequency of trips has been reduced from the usual four-minute trips to 10-minute trips.[3]
