This route was officially a circular route as listed in the according to Transport Department's Schedule of Services, but under any circumstances, all passengers must alight after the vehicle had arrived at Fo Tan (Cheung Lek Mei Street), therefore it belonged to a fake circular route.

Ridership[]

This route used to be the only round-the-clock transport service between Ma On Shan and Fo Tan, but the demand for travelling to and from the two places was limited, and apart from the weekday peak hours, minibuses on this route was often empty during the rest of the day. Despite the operator's continuous efforts to reduce the frequency and service hours of this route, it suffered heavy losses. The application to the Transport Department to cease operation in 2020 was eventually approved, and Himwell launched Route 811B in its place on 21 September of the same year.
