Hong Kong Buses Wiki

The New Territories Green Minibus Route 71 is operated by Foo Wo Public Light Bus (富和小巴) (Passenger Service Licence (PSL) No. 12403C) under Min Kee Motors. It runs between Yuen Long Tai Hang Street and Ho Pui Tsuen, via Kam Sheung Road Station and Tai Lam Tunnel Bus Interchange.

Owing to the GMB licensing conditions, this route is required to detour via Kam Sheung Road Station even when it is full and no passenger requests to go there, and the operator has posted a notice inside the minibus to remind drivers and passengers, while some drivers still drive straight along Kam Sheung Road.

The official routing information of the Transport Department states that the name "Shek Wu Tong (Ho Pui Tsuen)" refers to two different places. Shek Wu Tong is located to the north of Pat Heung Road, while Ho Pui Tsuen is located to the south of Pat Heung Road near the Yuen Long portal of the Tai Lam Tunnel. Route 71 observes Shek Wu Tong, and terminates at Ho Pui Tsuen near the Village Office.

In addition, the operator provides a short-working trip running between Ho Pui Tsuen and Kam Sheung Road Station on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays on a need basis, and independently numbered as 71M, of which was not recognised by the Transport Department (TD).[Remark 1]
