History[]
- 9 October 1987: The Transport Department invited opened tenders for a total of 18 green minibus (GMB) routes in a set of 9, this route and Route 68K was grouped as same brand[1]
- 27 May 1988: Route 69K came into service[2]
- 28 June 2022: Real-time Arrival Information System was introduced to this route. [3]

- 15 March 2023: 10:00 in the evening, one of the Toyota Coaster heading to Sha Tin Station was crashed by another green minibus in Tai Po Road - Sha Tin near Lek Yuen Estate, 2 minibus have 13 people injured[9][10]
