The New Territories Green Minibus (GMB) Route 621 is operated by Power Crown Limited (Passenger Service Licence (PSL) No. 15462C) under Transport International. It runs circular between Hung Fuk Estate Hung Yuen Road and Tin Shui Wai North, via MTR Tin Shui Wai Station, Tin Shui Estate and Tin Shui Wai Hospital.

History[]

  • March 2019: The Transport Department issued a paper to the Traffic and Transport Committee of the Yuen Long District Council to consult members on the introduction of a green minibus route between Hung Shui Kiu (Hung Fuk Estate) and Tin Shui Wai (Tin Tan Street).[1]
  • 5 July 2019: The Transport Department (TD) invited open tenders for the right to operate five groups of 12 green minibus routes, which were grouped in the same group of tenders as routes 622 and 623. [2]
  • 15 March 2020: Route 621 entered service.[3]
  • 25 June 2021: Real-time Arrival Information System was introduced to this route.[4]
  • 1 January 2023: The following service arrangements were implemented on a trial basis, originally until 31 March 2023[5] which was eventually converted to a permanent arrangement:[6]
    • The terminus was relocated from Tin Tan Street to inside Tin Shui Wai Hospital;
    • A new special departure at 07:15 on Mondays to Fridays directly heading towards Hung Tin Road via Hung Shui Kiu Tin Sam Road from Hung Fuk Estate Hung Yuen Road, omitting Hung Shui Kiu Main Street and Castle Peak Road - Hung Shui Kiu was added.
  • 28 January 2024: Service area was extended to Tin Shui Wai North and converted to circular operation, with a new $4.8 section fare between Tin Shui Wai Hospital and Tin Shui Wai North introduced.[7]
  • 1 May 2024: Interchange concessions with 16 KMB routes were introduced.[8]

Fare Remarks
  • Same fare regardless of age.
  • Elderly persons aged 65 or above using Elderly Octopus or Personalised Octopus cards and eligible persons with disabilities using Personalised Octopus cards with "Persons with Disabilities Status" can enjoy a flat fare of $2.0 per journey under the Concessionary Fare.
  • Passengers are required to tender exact fare in cash or by Octopus card upon boarding. No change will be given.
  • Passengers who wish to pay the two-way section fares by Octopus card should press the "Section Fare" button on the Octopus fare processor to adjust the fare to the appropriate amount before tapping.
  • Passengers using Personalised Octopus Cards with "Student Status" may enjoy a flat fare of $3.0 regardless of journey distance.

  • Passengers must use the same Octopus Card to pay the fare for both the minibus and MTR to enjoy the above-mentioned interchange concession.
  • Passengers can enjoy the above interchange concession at any MTR station / minibus stop that connects to the second leg of the route.
  • The MTR ride does not apply to Light Rail, Airport Express, High Speed Rail, MTR Bus and MTR Feeder Bus services.
  • The MTR interchange concession only applies to paid rides. Unless otherwise specified, passengers using the Monthly Pass Enhanced or Disneyland Resort Line Monthly Pass (including those who have paid First Class Supplementary Fare) cannot enjoy this concession when taking the MTR at designated stations; however, if Enhanced Monthly Pass or Disneyland Resort Line Monthly Ticket holders take paid rides outside the designated stations, the concession still applies.
  • If passengers have just used the same Octopus Card for the Airport Express "Free MTR Connection," they cannot simultaneously enjoy the MTR interchange concession.
  • If both "MTR Fare Saver" and "MTR Interchange Concession" are applicable, passengers can only enjoy one of the higher discounts.
  • Higher concession amounts are available for certain GMB routes at designated MTR stations.
