Ridership[]
Route 503 was originally intended to provide Queen's Hill residents with a connection to the North District Hospital service. Due to the lack of supporting facilities in the Queen's Hill community, residents need to go to Sheung Shui for shopping, medical treatment or transfer to other public transportation. This route passes through MTR Sheung Shui Station area, which is attracting to the residents[7][8]. In view of this, the operator added a short-distance service 503K on 19 June 2022 to divert the huge passenger flow on the main route.[9]
