The defunct New Territories Green Minibus Route 412 was operated by KC Investments Limited (Passenger Service Licence (PSL) No. 13365C) under Min Kee Motors. It ran Circular between Kwai Chung Estate and Shek Lei Estate (referred to as "North-East Kwai Chung" by Transport Department) to serve the North Kwai Chung residents in Kwai Chung Estate in a clockwise direction.

Route 412 was a mixed intra-district and inter-district route, which needs to pass through the intermediate stop at "Cheung Wing Road" in Tsuen Wan District for Shek Yam and Shek Lei direction, while the Kwai Chung Estate direction belongs to the Kwai Tsing intra-district route.

History[]

Under the Housing Department's overcrowding mitigation measures, residents who have moved to Kwai Chung Estate were still close to their original North Kwai Chung Estate neighbours, and there is sufficient demand for a green minibus route between the two places. As a result, the Government launched a tender exercise for the new route and successfully launched it after lobbying by the residents and the District Councillors.

  • 23 March 2007: The Transport Department (TD) invited open tenders for five new green minibus (GMB) routes, of which this route was one of them.[1]
  • 26 August 2007: Route 412 entered service.[2]
  • 27 December 2015: Rerouted via Tai Wo Hau Road (Southbound), Kwai Hing Station lnterchange and Kwai Hing Road before returning to Wo Tong Tsui Street towards Shek Lei Estate.[3]
  • 14 September 2020: Departures from 10:00 daily were rerouted via Castle Peak Road - Kwai Chung, Texaco Interchange, Texaco Road and Tai Wo Hau Road to Kwai Chung Estate for inbound journey, omitting Kin Chuen Street and Wo Tong Tsui Street.[4]
  • 1 February 2022: Service was ceased due to insufficient ridership and was replaced by KMB Route 31A, which operates during peak hours on school days only.[5]
