History[]

  • 31 August 1990: The Transport Department invited public tenders for 14 groups of 27 new green minibus routes, in which this route was grouped together with Route 402S. [1]
  • 4 November 1991: Route 401 commenced service. [2]
  • 4 May 1992: Detoured via Kwan Mun Hau Street, Luen Yan Street and Ma Tau Pa Road.
