The New Territories Green Minibus Route 313 is operated by King On Transportation Limited (廣安運輸有限公司) (Passenger Service Licence (PSL) No. 10749C) under Chiap Shing Motor. It runs between Tsuen Wan (Tso Kung Street) (near Fuk Loi Estate) and Princess Margaret Hospital (Block K), via Sha Tsui Road, Tai Wo Hau Estate, Kwai Chung Estate, Kwai Hing Estate, Kwai Fong and Lai King Estate.

History[]

  • 16 February 2001: The Transport Department (TD) invited open tenders for the right to operate nine new green minibus routes in seven groups, among which this route was grouped together with Route 312 as a single group.[1]
  • 3 November 2001: Route 313 entered service, running between Tsuen Wan (Tak Hoi Street) and Princess Margaret Hospital at that time. [2]
  • 3 December 2006: Changed to turn right to Hing Fong Road directly after reaching Kwai Fuk Road for Tsuen Wan direction, no longer passing through Hing Shing Road, Ko Fong Street and Wing Fong Road.
  • 29 November 2011: Tsuen Wan terminus was relocated from Tak Hoi Street to Tso Kung Street. [3]
  • 22 December 2021: Real-time Arrival Information System was introduced to this route. [4]

  • Passengers must use the same Octopus Card to pay the fare for both the minibus and MTR to enjoy the above-mentioned interchange concession.
  • Passengers can enjoy the above interchange concession at any MTR station / minibus stop that connects to the second leg of the route.
  • The MTR ride does not apply to Light Rail, Airport Express, High Speed Rail, MTR Bus and MTR Feeder Bus services.
  • The MTR interchange concession only applies to paid rides. Unless otherwise specified, passengers using the Monthly Pass Enhanced or Disneyland Resort Line Monthly Pass (including those who have paid First Class Supplementary Fare) cannot enjoy this concession when taking the MTR at designated stations; however, if Enhanced Monthly Pass or Disneyland Resort Line Monthly Ticket holders take paid rides outside the designated stations, the concession still applies.
  • If passengers have just used the same Octopus Card for the Airport Express "Free MTR Connection," they cannot simultaneously enjoy the MTR interchange concession.
  • If both "MTR Fare Saver" and "MTR Interchange Concession" are applicable, passengers can only enjoy one of the higher discounts.
  • Higher concession amounts are available for certain GMB routes at designated MTR stations.

Minibus deployments[]

According to the Transport Department's Schedule of Services, a total of 8 16 or 19-seatet minibuses are required to serve this route and has a total capacity of not less than 190 passengers in each direction during the peakiest hour.

Currently New Territories Routes 312 and 313 under King On Transportation is served by a total of 30 Toyota Coaster diesel minibuses, including 13 of 16-seater minibus and 17 of 19-seater minibuses. All of these vehicles can support other routes when in need. [15]

Related incidents[]

  • 21 July 2018: At around 10am, a Toyota Coaster (RV5202) towards Tsuen Wan (Tso Kung Street) was running along Lai King Hill Road when it reached the exit of the Yat King House minibus stop, and was suspected to have failed to notice that a minibus of Route 313 had braked at the stand in front of it, and hit its rear end when it failed to switch off the brakes. Six people were injured, including the driver of the route 313 minibus, who was trapped inside the vehicle and had to be rescued by firefighters, and a male passenger who was treated at the scene and refused to be hospitalised.[16]
  • 17 March 2020: At around 8am, a Toyota Coaster (SW6785) towards Princess Margaret Hospital was involved in a head-on collision with a seven-seater private car suspected to have suddenly crossed the lane at Wo Kwai Lane, and nine people injured.[17][18]
  • 7 June 2020: At around 12pm, a Toyota Coaster towards Princess Margaret Hospital had collided with a taxi at the Lai King Station bus stop, resulting 3 injuries.[19]
  • 20 September 2024: At around 10am, a Toyota Coaster towards Princess Margaret Hospital collided with a taxi driving from King Cho Road on Lai King Hill Road near Morning Hope School, resulting four injuries.[20]
