The New Territories Green Minibus Route 312 is operated by King On Transportation Limited (廣安運輸有限公司) (Passenger Service Licence (PSL) No. 10749C) under Chiap Shing Motor. It runs between Lei Muk Shue and Maritime Square, via Shek Wai Kok Estate, Texaco Road and Tsing Tsuen Road.
History[]
- 16 February 2001: The Transport Department (TD) invited open tenders for the right to operate nine new green minibus routes in seven groups, among which this route was grouped together with Route 313 as a single group. [1]
- 3 November 2001: Route 312 entered service. [2]
- 1 December 2006: A two-way section fare between Lei Muk Shue and Texaco Road was introduced.
- 22 April 2007: Rerouted via Texaco Road at-grade carriageway, Tsuen Fu Street and Wai Tsuen Road instead of Texaco Road Flyover for Lei Muk Shue direction. [3]
- 5 August 2007: Rerouted via Wai Tsuen Road southbound, Castle Peak Road - Tsuen Wan and Kwok Shui Road for Tsing Yi direction, omitting Tsuen Kam Interchange and Texaco Road Flyover. [4]
- 25 July 2015: The terminus of Tsing Yi Station was relocated from the Podium Bus Terminus to the "Tsing Yi Town Lot No. 135 Public Light Bus (Scheduled) Terminus" at ground level to tie in with the Maritime Square extension project. [5]
- 22 December 2021: Real-time Arrival Information System was introduced to this route. [6]

According to the Transport Department's Schedule of Services, a total of 8 minibuses are required to serve this route and has a total capacity of not less than 160 passengers in each direction during the peakiest hour.
Currently New Territories Routes 312 and 313 under King On Transportation is served by a total of 29 Toyota Coaster diesel minibuses, including 13 of 16-seater minibus and 16 of 19-seater minibuses. All of these vehicles can support other routes when in need. [7]

Related incidents[]
- 12 November 2017: at around 11:00pm, a Toyota Coaster minibus (SJ3568) heading towards Maritime Square was passing near Maritime Square on Tsing Tsuen Bridge when it hit a rock curb at the Tsing Tsuen Bridge bifurcation, injuring six people. [8] The minibus involved in the incident was subsequently retired early and replaced by VE775 (7DL 2017) as the front end, engine compartment, headstock components, suspension system and chassis were severely damaged beyond repair.
- 14 March 2022: At around 3:00pm, a Lei Muk Shue-bound Toyota Coaster minibus (VF4461) was leaving the Maritime Square minibus terminus when the driver was distracted by a fall of a passenger, the minibus crashed into two motorcycles parked by the roadside, and then crashed into a pier of Tsing Tsuen Bridge, the motorcycles suddenly burst into flames and smoke. The fire then spread to the minibus, smoke swept up into the sky, and once there was an explosion sound, firefighters arrived at the scene to extinguish the fire, but the three vehicles have been completely destroyed, leaving the frames burnt. [9][10][11] The body, engine compartment and chassis of the minibus were severely burnt and could not be repaired, to which the minibus was replaced by YD6570 (2022 7DL).
- 8 August 2023: At 10:11 a.m., a Toyota Coaster minibus (JS2808, 2018 7DL) bound for Maritime Square Minibus Terminus was approaching a section of Wai Tsuen Road off Wai Tsuen Indoor Recreation Centre when the front end of the minibus suddenly became overheated and emitted smoke, upon which the driver immediately evacuated the 14 passengers on board, and the minibus caught fire after the passengers left the minibus. Firefighters were called to the scene to put out the fire but the minibus was eventually burnt to the ground and its frame was left in flames, but no one was injured in the incident. [12] The body, engine compartment and chassis of the minibus were severely burnt and could not be repaired, and the licence plate and passenger service licence were transferred to a new Euro VI minibus of the same model (2023 7DL).
