Minibus deployments[]
According to the Transport Department's Service Details, this route requires a total of 26 minibuses, 11 of which are 19-seat minibuses. The total passenger capacity in each direction during the peak hour is no less than 335.
Current this route and Route 101M, 102B, 102S and 111 have a total of 65 TOYOTA Coaster minibuses, included 17 of 16-seater minibuses and 48 of 19-seater minibuses
In July 2015, the first long-range Toyota Coaster (GX511, originally the 1996 third generation) diesel minibus was put into service on this route. The vehicle[9] is equipped with electric sliding doors and sealed windows, luxurious seats, and an automatic transmission. In response to the government's plan to replace the first phase of EU commercial vehicles, this route has gradually introduced such minibuses since December 2015, replacing some of the original 16-seat LPG minibuses.[10]
However, after serving on this route for many years, the above-mentioned minibuses often suffered from mechanical failures of varying sizes, which greatly increased the maintenance cost.[11] Therefore, since 2019, Ma Ah Muk has taken the opportunity of launching a large number of brand new 19-seat LPG minibuses to transfer these minibuses to other routes with the same type of minibuses, such as the Win Tai Industrial New Territories 44 series route or the Golden Win New Territories 55K route, replacing the 16-seat LPG minibuses that were transferred to other Ma Ah Muk -owned minibus operators or deregistered and retired, and replaced them with the new 19-seat LPG minibuses. The above-mentioned diesel minibuses have all been transferred from this route in October 2022.
Until January 2024, this route has 45 of Newest 19-seater LPB minibuses to service.
