On 4 July 2019, the Transport Department invited open tenders for the operating rights of 5 groups of minibus routes, in which Leung Yick Transport won the operating right for the route running between Choi Hing Court and Kai Tak. The route was later numbered as 82 and entered service on 1 November 2020.
