The Laguna Verde Public Transport Interchange (海逸豪園公共運輸交匯處, Citybus Location Code LAV, whereas KMB and LWB Location Code 海豪) is located at the ground floor of The Greenwood, Phase 1 Laguna Verde, 8 Laguna Verde Avenue, Hung Hom, Kowloon City District, Kowloon, opposite to the Hutchison Park and adjacent to the The Laguna Mall and CLP Headquarters. It is a franchised bus and green minibus terminus.
The Public Transport Interchange has a lay-by for franchised buses and a lay-by for green minibuses, with an entrance at Tai Wan Road East and an exit at Laguna Verde Avenue, which is a private road, and a green minibus stand opposite to the entrance.
History[]
The first CLP Power Station was built in 1903 at the present-day junction of Chatham Road and Princess Margaret Road. The power station was relocated to Hok Yuen in Hung Hom in 1921 to cope with the development of the Whampoa Dockyard and the Green Island Cement Company Limited (GIC) in the area. The Hok Yuen Power Station was demolished in the 1990s and a private housing estate was built jointly by Cheung Kong (Holdings) Limited and CLP Power Hong Kong Limited. The residential development of Laguna Verde was built into 5 phases comprising 25 towers with a total of 4,735 flats, which is managed by CKH's Goodwell Property Management Limited.
The first phase of the estate, The Greenwood, was occupied in mid-1998, and the "Laguna Verde Public Transport Terminus" (海逸豪園公共交通總站) on the ground floor was opened on 10 July[1]. KMB Route 8P came into service on 1 August, initially operating only during daily peak hours and via Hung Hom Station and Tsim Sha Tsui East, but was upgraded to a whole-day service with a new Hung Hom Bypass on 22 December 2000 to provide residents with an express bus service to and from Tsim Sha Tsui. During the same period, representatives of Laguna Verde applied to the Transport Department for operating resident buses between Hung Hom and Tsim Sha Tsui, but the application was rejected by the Bureau.[2]
Due to the proximity of Laguna Verde to Whampoa Garden and Hung Hom Industrial Estate, there are only four bus routes using this stop at the moment, and cross-harbour routes 107P and 115P only operate during weekday peak hours; while Citybus Route A23, which came into operation in January 2020, ran to the Airport via this stop in one direction, and it was the first bus route using this terminus as an intermediate stop. Minibus route 26 detours via the Laguna Verde terminus on both directions and provide express service to/from Jordan Road via Laguna Verde as the terminus of the supplementary Route 26X during peak hours.
Subsequently, Citybus Route A25 was introduced on 1 April 2023 to replace the original Citybus Route A23 due to criticisms that the route was too circuitous.
