The Airbus Route NA31 is operated by Long Win Bus (LWB). It runs between Tsuen Wan (Nina Tower) and HZMB Hong Kong Port, via Discovery Park, MTR Tsuen Wan Station, Luk Yeung Sun Chuen, Panda Hotel, Tsuen Wan East Industrial Area and Cheung On Estate, taking Tsing Yi North Coastal Road, Lantau Link to and from Cathay Pacific City and Airport Passenger Terminal Building.
This is the overnight version of Route A31 and has identical stopping arrangements at Tsuen Wan District and on Tsing Yi Island.
History[]
- 8 April 2017: Route NA31 commenced service between Airport (Ground Transportation Centre) and Tsuen Wan (Nina Tower) until 30 April of the same year. [1]
- 7 June 2017: Summer period service was introduced until 31 August of the same year. [2]
- The service was subsequently extended several times until 1 May 2018 when it was officially upgraded to a regular route. [3]
- 1 February 2018: An additional 04:30 service to Airport was introduced. [4]
- 24 October 2018: The "Fuk Loi Estate Tai Chung Road" stop on Tai Chung Road was cancelled and changed to stop at "Wing Hong House Fuk Loi Estate" stop on Castle Peak Road - Tsuen Wan.
- 25 Octpber 2018: Extended to HZMB Hong Kong Port to facilitate the commissioning of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge: [5][6]
- To Tsuen Wan:
- Headways were increased to two, departing at 00:25 and 00:55;
- After departing from the new terminus, the route would go via Shun Wui Road, Chek Lap Kok Road, Sky City Interchange, Cheong Lin Road, Airport South Interchange and Cheong Lin Road to return to Ground Transportation Centre;
- After arriving at Airport Road, the route was diverted via East Coast Road, Scenic Road and Bus Stop Loop on Scenic Road, stopping at "Cathay Pacific City" stop which was added on the same day, then return back to Airport Road via Scenic Road and Chun Wan Road Interchange.
- To HZMB Hong Kong Port:
- A new departure at 04:00 was introduced;
- After arriving at Airport Road, the route was diverted via Chun Wan Road Interchange and Scenic Road, stopping at "Cathay Pacific City" stop which was added on the same day, then return to Airport Road via East Coast Road;
- After stopping at "Terminal 2" stop on Sky Plaza Road and arriving at Airport South Interchange, the route was diverted via Cheong Lin Road, Sky City Interchange, Chek Lap Kok Road, Shun Fai Road and Shun Wui Road to the new terminus, and an intermediate stop at "HZMB Passenger Clearance Building" on Shun Wui Road was added and the "Airport (Ground Transportation Centre)" stop was cancelled.
- To Tsuen Wan:
- 27 November 2018: After reaching "Yan Chai Hospital" stop at Kwan Mun Hau Street, buses were detoured via Shing Mun Road, Sai Lau Kok Road, Wai Tsuen Road, Miu Kong Street and Shing Mun Road, and then return to Castle Peak Road - Tsuen Wan and the original routing, with an additional stop called at "Luk Yeung Sun Chuen" on Wai Tsuen Road. [7]
- 29 November 2019: To facilitate the Terminal 2 expansion project, Airport-bound buses were diverted via Airport Road to Airport South Interchange, and the "Terminal 2" stop on Sky Plaza Road was cancelled.[8][9]
- 25 January 2020: The headways to Tsuen Wan (Nina Tower) was increased to three, and the departure times were changed to 00:25, 00:50 and 01:15, on a trial basis until 24 April of the same year [10]. However, due to the outbreak of novel coronavirus pandemic, the trial ended earlier on 24 February. [11]
- 18 June 2020: The last bus to Tsuen Wan (Nina Tower) was brought backward to 01:05. [12]
