The Airbus Route A41P is operated by Long Win Bus (LWB). It runs between Wu Kai Sha Station and Airport (Ground Transportation Centre), which serves Kam Ying Court, Ma On Shan Town Centre, Yiu On Estate, Tai Shui Hang, A Kung Kok, Shek Mun, City One Shatin and connects to the Airport Passenger Terminal Building and HZMB Hong Kong Port via Tsing Sha Highway and Lantau Link.
Despite having a suffix of "P", this route provides whole-day service and is not a peak hour special route.
History[]
- 30 June 1999: Route A41P entered service, running between Yiu On and Airport (Ground Transportation Centre)[1], initially being under a trial operation for 6 months.[2] Consequently, it became a permanent route after the trial period ended.
- 29 September 2001: Detoured via A Kung Kok Street and Ning Tai Road in lieu of Yuen Wo Road for both directions.[3]
- 16 March 2002: Rerouted via Tsing Yi North Coastal Road for both directions and no longer observed Tsing Yi Road West.[4]
- 18 May 2002: Detoured via Chevalier Garden Bus Terminus for both directions.[5]
- 21 June 2003: Interchange concessions with several LWB North Lantau External Bus Routes (E routes) were introduced.[6]
- 1 November 2003: Services from Yiu On were detoured via Po Tai Street with an en-route stop there with the intake of Ocean View.[7]
- 4 July 2005: Daily departures before 6:00 a.m. and after 12:00 midnight in both directions were diverted via the at-grade section of Texaco Road instead of the Texaco Road Flyover to tie in with the implementation of noise control measures at the Flyover. [8]
- 5 December 2007: Detoured via Terminal 2 (Sky Plaza) for Airport direction.[9]
- 1 May 2013: With the renewal of LWB's franchise::[10][11]
- Octopus interchange concessions with KMB routes 87K, 87S, 289K and 299 were introduced;
- The original interchange concessions from A routes to E routes to/from Airport were expanded to cover interchanges from E routes to A routes (to Airport), as well as A routes to E routes (to New Territories).
- 25 August 2013: Extended from Yiu On to Wu Kai Sha Station, with amendments made to the alignment in Ma On Shan.[12]
- 18 December 2014: Estimated Time of Arrival Enquiry System was introduced on this route.[13]
- 19 November 2016: Octopus interchange concessions with KMB solely-operated routes were introduced with the maximum discounted amount of $6.0.[14]
- 1 July 2017: Octopus interchange concession with Route S64 was introduced. [15]
- 29 November 2019: To facilitate the Terminal 2 expansion project, Airport-bound buses were diverted via Airport Road to Airport South Interchange, and the "Terminal 2" stop on Sky Plaza Road was cancelled.[16][17]
- 10 May 2021: Daily departure at 18:05 from Airport detoured via Airport Expo Boulevard with a stop at "AsiaWorld-Expo".[18]
- 1 August 2021: Trips detouring via AsiaWorld-Expo called additionally at "Hong Kong SkyCity Marriott Hotel" and "Sky City Interchange" stops at Sky City Road East. [19]
- 1 November 2021: Daily departure from Airport at 18:35 detoured via Airport Expo Boulevard and Sky City Road East. [20]
- 1 May 2022: Daily departures from Wu Kai Sha Station at 06:20 and from Airport at 17:20 detoured via Airport Expo Boulevard and Sky City Road East.[21]
- 1 August 2022: Daily departure at 06:40 from Wu Kai Sha Station detoured via Airport Expo Boulevard and Sky City Road East.[22]
- 1 November 2022: Daily departures from Airport at 17:35 and 17:50 detoured via Airport Expo Boulevard and Sky City Road East.[23]
- 1 February 2023: Daily departure at 07:00 from Wu Kai Sha Station detoured via Airport Expo Boulevard and Sky City Road East.[24]
- 17 September 2023:[25][26]
- Rerouted via Tsing Sha Highway and Cheung Tsing Highway for both directions, omitting Shing Mun Tunnels, Texaco Road, Tsing Tsuen Road and Tsing Yi North Coastal Road;
- Detoured via HZMB Hong Kong Port for both directions.
- 5 November 2023: A new stop was added at Tsing Sha Highway BBI for both directions.[27]
- 3 December 2023: The amount of interchange concession with KMB's regular solely-operated routes was increased to free of charge for one trip between these two routes until 31 August 2024. [28]
- 1 December 2025: The 07:40 departure daily was advanced by 10 minutes and extended to depart from Sai Sha Residences, while the daily departure at 17:55 from Airport (Ground Transportation Centre) was extended to terminate at Sai Sha Residences.[29][30]

- 2014: The average occupancy rate for Airport bound during peak hours was 70%.[31]

- January: The average patronage rate during morning peak hours towards Airport was 34-76%, while during afternoon peak hours towards Sha Tin was 33-69%;
- June: The average patronage rate during morning peak hours towards the airport was 55-90%, while during afternoon peak hours towards Sha Tin was 59-82%;
- September: The average patronage rate during morning peak hours towards the airport: 23-62% while during afternoon peak hours towards Sha Tin was 43-66%.
- 2019:
- February: During the morning peak period towards Airport, the average patronage rate towards Airport during the morning peak hours was approximately 52%, with the highest patronage rate of around 62%; during the evening peak period towards Wu Kai Sha, the average patronage rate was approximately 58%, with the highest patronage rate of around 67%.[33]
- Third quarter: During the morning peak period towards the airport, the average patronage rate was approximately 60%; during the afternoon peak period towards Wu Kai Sha, the average patronage rate was approximately 50%;[34]
- Fourth quarter: During the morning peak period towards the airport, the average patronage rate was approximately 35%; during the afternoon peak period towards Wu Kai Sha, the average patronage rate was approximately 55%.[34]
- 2020:
- February: The patronage rate during the peakiest hour was 72%.
- First quarter: The average patronage rate was about 45% towards Airport during the morning peak period and about 30% towards Wu Kai Sha during the afternoon peak period.[34]
- 2021: The average patronage rates for the morning peak period towards the Airport and the afternoon peak period towards Wu Kai Sha are about 60% and 50% respectively.[35]

- Second quarter: The average patronage rate during the morning peak period was about 20% towards the Airport and 10% towards Wu Kai Sha; the average patronage rate during the afternoon peak period was about 5% towards the Airport and 30% towards Wu Kai Sha.
- 2023:
- First quarter: First quarter: The average patronage rate was about 45% in the morning peak period towards the airport and about 30% in the afternoon peak period towards Sha Tin.[34]
- 2025: The patronage rate during the peakiest hour was 55%.
Related incidents[]
- 7 November 2010: At approximately 23:00 hours, an empty Dennis Trident (147/HS7872) travelling towards Airport lost control at the Cheong Lin Road roundabout and violently collided with the concrete pillar supporting the Airport Railway's elevated track. The entire front section of the bus sustained severe damage, with the bus captain sustaining serious injuries.[36] The bus was written off due to irreparable damage to its chassis, front axle components, hydraulic cylinders and suspension system, and was immediately retired.[37]
- 2 July 2013: At approximately 11:00 am, an Enviro500 (8515/RB4002) travelling towards Yiu On collided with a man crossing Hang Shun Street. The man sustained head injuries and was taken to hospital.[38]
- 9 October 2017: At approximately 7:00 am, an Enviro500 MMC (9516/SN4127) travelling towards Airport collided with a Citybus Enviro500 (8256/RP6274) operating on Route 681 towards Hong Kong Station near the junction of Sai Sha Road and Hang Hong Street with the Citybus vehicle struck the rear of the LWB bus. No injuries were sustained in the incident.[39]
