The Airbus Route A36 is operated by Long Win Bus (LWB). It runs between Kam Sheung Road Station and Airport, via Au Tau, Yuen Long Main Road and Hung Kiu, taking Tuen Mun Chek Lap Kok Tunnel Road to and from the HZMB Hong Kong Port and Hong Kong International Airport.

Among all daytime routes plying between Yuen Long District and the Airport Terminal Area via Tuen Mun Road, only this route makes stop on the road.[Remark 1]

History[]

In the 2013-2014 Bus Route Development Programme, the Transport Department (TD) proposed to extend Route A33 from Tuen Mun Station to Hung Shui Kiu. In view of the population growth in Hung Shui Kiu and the demand of passengers in Yuen Long Town Centre in recent years, the Administration proposed to introduce Route A36 in the following year's Bus Route Planning Programme to replace the last year's proposal of extending Route A33, and the section of the service between San Hui and Chung Uk Tsuen will be replaced by the proposed new Route A33P.

Route A36 provides express bus service for passengers in Hung Shui Kiu, Ping Shan and Yuen Long Town areas to and from Cathay City and the Airport Terminal Building. The Administration expects that the travelling time between Yuen Long town centre and Cathay City/Airport Terminal Building on this route will save about 15 minutes as compared with that of Route E34B , and it is expected that some passengers travelling to and from the airport on Route E34B would be diverted to this route, thus helping to divert passengers on this route.
