The Kowloon Green Minibus (GMB) Route 77M is operated by Jetwide Limited (集偉有限公司) (Passenger Service Licence (PSL) No. 11289C). It runs circular between Kowloon Station and East Tsim Sha Tsui Station, via Austin Station, China Hong Kong City and Harbour City.

History[]

  • 21 February 2003: The Transport Department (TD) invited open tenders for the right to operate 13 new green minibus routes in 8 groups, in which this route was grouped with Route 78 in the same group.
  • 28 August 2003: Route 77M commenced service between the Kowloon AR Station and Tsim Sha Tsui Centre (next to the Kowloon Shangri-La Hotel on Mody Road).
  • October 2004: Interchange concession with Kowloon-Canton Railway (now East Rail Line) was offered, with East Tsim Sha Tsui Station designated as the interchange station.
  • 1 April 2005: Octopus interchange concession with MTR (pre-merger) was introduced, with Kowloon Station and Tsim Sha Tsui Station as designated interchange stations.
  • 17 September 2005: Diverted via Austin Road West instead of Jordan Road for Kowloon Station to tie in with the opening of the West Kowloon Temporary Waterfront Park.
  • 23 December 2005: Shortened from Tsim Sha Tsui Centre to East Tsim Sha Tsui Station.
  • 22 December 2006: Extended from East Tsim Sha Tsui Station to Tsim Sha Tsui East (with the terminus at Mody Road near the InterContinental Grand Stanford), and the railway interchange concession was cancelled.
  • July 2007: Terminus was relocated back to East Tsim Sha Tsui Station, and the interchange discount with the KCR was offered again.
  • 16 August 2009: Detoured via Wui Cheung Road, a section of Wui Man Road at Exit D1/D2 of Austin Station, Austin Road West and Lin Cheung Road for Kowloon Station to tie in with the opening of the Kowloon Southern Link.
  • 5 September 2010: Interchange concession with MTR was discontinued.
  • 2 January 2011: Affected by the HSR West Kowloon Station project, after departing Kowloon Station, minibuses were diverted via Nga Cheung Road, Austin Road West, Wui Man Road and Wui Cheung Road before returning to its original routing on Canton Road to East Tsim Sha Tsui Station. [8]
  • 29 May 2011: Elderly Concessionary Fare was adjusted and standardised to $1.2 off adult fare.
  • 25 November 2012: No longer observing Middle Road and East Tsim Sha Tsui Station Public Transport Interchange, but instead diverted via Salisbury Road eastbound (opposite to ex-New World Centre/Middle Road Children's Playground) and slip road back to Salisbury Road westbound and original routing.   • 1 August 2015: Detoured via Star Ferry for Kowloon Station on a trial basis, initially for three months, and was later extended and eventually ended in January 2016 according to official information.
  • 1 March 2016: Detours via Star Ferry were reduced to Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays only.
  • 23 September 2018: To tie in with the commissioning of the Hong Kong section of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link, a special departure was added for Kowloon Station to detour via the loading/unloading area at the Hong Kong West Kowloon Station of the Express Rail Link at Wui Man Road.
  • 24 September 2021: Real-time Arrival Information was made available on this route. [15]
  • 12 November 2021: After arriving at Salisbury Road westbound, minibuses were detoured via Nathan Road, Peking Road, Hankow Road, Middle Road back to Kowloon Park Drive and the original routing, and an additional stopover at Hankow Road; and some departures on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays between 11:00-19:00 were detoured via Museum Road with an additional stopover there; and the arrangement of observing Star Ferry on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays was cancelled.   • 23 November 2021: Detours via Museum Road were extended to 11:00-19:00 on Saturdays to Thursdays and public holidays and 11:00-22:30 on Fridays.

  • Elderly persons aged 65 or above using Elderly Octopus or Personalised Octopus cards, Hong Kong residents aged 60 to 64 using JoyYou Card, and eligible persons with disabilities using Personalised Octopus cards with"Persons with Disabilities Status" can enjoy a flat fare of $2.0 per journey under the Concessionary Fare Scheme.
  • Passengers are required to tender exact fare in cash or by Octopus card upon boarding. No change will be given.
  • Passengers who wish to pay two-way section fares by Octopus card should notify the driver to adjust the fare processor.
