The Kowloon Green Minibus (GMB) Route 68 is operated by Kamalie Limited (金萬利有限公司) (Passenger Service Licence (PSL) No. 7678C). It runs circular from Choi Wan (Fung Shing Street) and Kowloon Bay, via MTR Choi Hung Station, Ngau Tau Kok and Kwun Tong Industrial Area (Hoi Bun Road).

History[]

  • 26 August 1994: The Transport Department invited opened tenders for a total of 21 green minibus (GMB) routes in a set of 8, in which this route was among one of them.[1]
  • 10 December 1995: Route 68 entered service, running between Choi Wan (Fung Shing Street) and Kowloon Bay (Enterprise Square).
  • 8 August 2011: A special trip was introduced, departing between 08:15 - 09:00 from Choi Wan (Fung Shing Street) to Kowloon Bay (Enterprise Square), omitting Ngau Tau Kok.
  • 31 August 2011: Due to the road improvement projects for the Kai Tak Development Area, Enterprise Square-bound minibuses were changed to return to original routing after rerouting via Wang Chiu Road, Lam Fung Street, Sheung Yee Road; Choi Wan-bound minibuses were changed to return to original routing after rerouting via Sheung Yee Road and Wang Chiu Road southbound [2]
  • 26 September 2014: The Megabox boarding and alighting point was cancelled for Enterprise Square direction to facilitate the renovation works pf Enterprise Square Five [3], until December of same year.
  • 20 March 2016: Rerouted via Hoi Bun Road eastbound before turning into Lai Yip Street for Choi Wan direction, omitting Shun Yip Street and Wai Yip Street. [4]
  • 28 June 2022: Real-time Arrival Information System was introduced to this route. [5]
  • 29 August 2022: Due to Kai Tak Development Project, weekday special trips detouring via Cheung Yip Street were rerouted to enter Hoi Bun Road directly, omitting Kai Hing Road and Lam Chak Street. [6]
  • 27 October 2024: Taken over temporarily by Kamalie Limited (Passenger Service Licence (PSL) No. 7678) following the cessation of operations by Set Main Development (Passenger Service Licence (PSL) No. 7954).

  • Passengers must use the same Octopus Card to pay the fare for both the minibus and MTR to enjoy the above-mentioned interchange concession.
  • Passengers can enjoy the above interchange concession at any MTR station / minibus stop that connects to the second leg of the route.
  • The MTR ride does not apply to Light Rail, Airport Express, High-Speed Rail, MTR Bus and MTR Feeder Bus services.
  • The MTR interchange concession only applies to paid rides. Unless otherwise specified, passengers using the Monthly Pass Enhanced or Disneyland Resort Line Monthly Pass (including those who have paid First Class Supplementary Fare) cannot enjoy this concession when taking the MTR at designated stations; however, if Enhanced Monthly Pass or Disneyland Resort Line Monthly Ticket holders take paid rides outside the designated stations, the concession still applies.
  • If passengers have just used the same Octopus Card for the Airport Express "Free MTR Connection," they cannot simultaneously enjoy the MTR interchange concession.
  • If both "MTR Fare Saver" and "MTR Interchange Concession" are applicable, passengers can only enjoy one of the higher discounts.
  • Higher concession amounts are available for certain GMB routes at designated MTR stations.

According to the Transport Department's Schedule of Services, a total of 4 minibuses are required to serve this route. It has a total capacity of not less than 80 passengers in each direction during the peakiest hour.

Currently, this route and route 63 have a total of 15 Toyota Coaster LPG-minibuses, including 13 16-seater minibuses and 2 19-seater minibuses. Some minibuses will serve on Route 62S during overnight period.
