The Kowloon Overnight Green Minibus Route 62S is operated by Kamalie Limited (金萬利有限公司) (Passenger Service Licence (PSL) No. 7678C). It runs between Lam Tin (Kwong Tin Estate) and Tsim Sha Tsui (Haiphong Road).
This route is currently the Kowloon GMB route with the highest fare, and the only minibus route that passes through the Kai Tak Tunnel.
History[]
- 26 August 1994: The Transport Department launched an open tender for 8 groups of 21 new minibus routes, in which this route was grouped together with Route 63[1].
- 21 January 1996: Route 62S entered service.
- 26 April 2014: Detoured via Kai Lai Road for both directions.[2]
- 1 May 2014: Due to the Kwun Tong Town Centre Redevelopment Project and Tong Yan Street is opened, minibuses towards Lam Tin were re-routed via Mut Wah Street, Hip Wo Street, Kwun Tong Road roundabout, Hip Wo Street, Tong Yan Street Temporary Minibus Terminus, Tung Yan Street and Kwun Tong Road, omitting Fu Yan Street and Yue Man Square.[3]
- 2 April 2021: Due to the closure of Tung Yan Street Temporary Minibus Terminus, minibuses towards Lam Tin were re-routed via Tung Yan Street, Yue Man Square and Hong Ning Road before returning to Kwun Tong Road and the original routing after arriving at Hip Wo Street, and the original stop at the Tung Yan Street Temporary Minibus Terminus was re-located to near No. 60-62 Yue Man Square.
- 22 December 2021: Real-time Arrival Information System was introduced to this route. [4]

According to the Transport Department's Schedule of Services, this route requires a total of 4 minibuses to provide service. The total passenger capacity in each direction during the peak hour is not less than 48.
Currently, this route and routes 63 and 68 have a total of 15 Toyota Coaster LPG-minibuses, including 13 16-seater minibuses and 2 19-seater minibuses. Some minibuses will serve on this route during overnight period.

Related incicents[]
- 21 November 2014: At around 2am, a passenger was boarding a minibus towards Tsim Sha Tsui, and the police received a report from the passenger that the driver was disoriented and the vehicle was wavering. The minibus was stopped by the police at the western exit of the Kai Tak Tunnel; the driver passed a breathalyser test, but was suspected to be drugged driving and was taken to a police car, where he even fouled the police car and the driver was arrested on suspicion of drug driving.[13]
- 14 September 2023: At around 4am, A Tsim Sha Tsui-bound Toyota Coaster, suspected to be hit by a road sign underneath Fat Kwong Street, spun out of control and crashed into a road sign underneath Fat Kwong Street when entering Chatham Road North at East Kowloon Corridor due to slippery road surface in rainy weather, leaving two people injured.[14]
