The Kowloon Green Minibus (GMB) Route 53M is operated by Nice Class Company Limited (歷泰有限公司) (Passenger Service Licence (PSL) No. 4623C). It runs circular between Lok Fu and Tin Ma Court.

History[]

  • 15 November 1985: The Transport Department invited tenders of 11 groups with 24 new green minibus routes, with this route and route 51M and 52 were grouped into the same series.[1]
  • 2 December 1986: Route 53M came into service.[2]
  • 28 June 2022: Real-time Arrival Information System was introduced to this route. [3]

  • Passengers are required to tender exact fare in cash or by Octopus card upon boarding. No change will be given.
  • This route has no section fares.

Notes:
  • Passengers must use the same Octopus Card to pay the fare for both the minibus and MTR to enjoy the above-mentioned interchange concession.
  • Passengers can enjoy the above interchange concession at any MTR station / minibus stop that connects to the second leg of the route.
  • The MTR ride does not apply to Light Rail, Airport Express, High Speed Rail, MTR Bus and MTR Feeder Bus services.
  • The MTR interchange concession only applies to paid rides. Unless otherwise specified, passengers using the Monthly Pass Enhanced or Disneyland Resort Line Monthly Pass (including those who have paid First Class Supplementary Fare) cannot enjoy this concession when taking the MTR at designated stations; however, if Enhanced Monthly Pass or Disneyland Resort Line Monthly Ticket holders take paid rides outside the designated stations, the concession still applies.
  • If passengers have just used the same Octopus Card for the Airport Express "Free MTR Connection," they cannot simultaneously enjoy the MTR interchange concession.
  • If both "MTR Fare Saver" and "MTR Interchange Concession" are applicable, passengers can only enjoy one of the higher discounts.
  • Higher concession amounts are available for certain GMB routes at designated MTR stations.

According to Transport Department's Schedule of Services, this route is served by a total of 4 minibuses having a combined carrying capacity of not less than 240 passengers per direction during the peak hour together with other routes.

Currently, this route and Kowloon Routes 51Mand 52 operated under Nice Class have a total of 20 Toyota Coaster minibuses, including 9 16-seater minibuses and 11 19-seater minibuses. Minibuses from route 52 can support this route when necessary.
