The Kowloon Green Minibus Route 49M is operated by Koon Wing Motors Limited (冠榮車行有限公司) (Passenger Service Licence (PSL) No. 3289C) under Ma Ah Muk. It runs between Shun Tin Estate and Ping Shek, passing through Shun On Estate, Shun Lee Estate and Choi Wan Estate (New Clear Water Bay Road).
This route is a short-working service of Route 49, which has the exact same routing as Route 54M of the same series (but with a different Passenger Service Licence), and together they provide rail feeder services for Four Shun residents. Therefore, the two route numbers are often mixed, so there may be cases where minibuses are still dispatched outside the scheduled service hours.
In addition, this route is one of the mixed intra- and inter-district GMB routes, serving Kwun Tong District in the direction of Ping Shek, and Wong Tai Sin and Kwun Tong districts in the direction of Shun Tin. [Remark 1]
