The Kowloon Green Minibus (GMB) Route 43M is operated by Goodrich Transportation (Passenger Service Licence (PSL) No. 9480C), and is split into two branch routes on a whole-day basis:

  • "Green plate" trips: It runs circular between Central Park and MTR Yau Ma Tei Station, observing Olympic Station for the outbound journey and The Coronation for the return journey. Passengers of the return journey can interchange to the earlier departure towards stops after Olympic Station;
  • "Red plate" short-working trips: It runs circular between Park Avenue and MTR Yau Ma Tei Station, observing The Hermitage for both directions (with trips omitting The Hermitage on outbound and return trips respectively during morning peak hours and served by special trips instead).

Besides, Route 43M also has "Yellow plate" trips running between Hoi Ting Road (West Kowloon Government Offices) and Park Avenue, via Yau Ma Tei Station.

Passengers can differentiate the relevant trips through the colours of route signs on the front end windscreens and the side of the doors.

History[]

  • 28 March 1998: The Transport Department invited open tenders for a total of 19 green minibus (GMB) routes in a set of 15, with two branch routes of Route 43M (Charming Garden ↺ Yau Ma Tei MTR Station, Charming Garden ↺ Olympic MTR Station) being grouped into the same group. [1]
  • 1 November 1999: Route 43M entered service in tandem with the occupation of Charming Garden, running between Charming Garden and Yau Ma Tei MTR Station.
  • 1 June 2001: An auxillary service Route 43 was introduced, running between Charming Garden and Olympic Station. [2]
  • 19 January 2003: To avoid confusion of passengers, the main route and the auxillary route was merged with terminus located at Central Park and detouring via Olympic Station.
  • 1 November 2005: A new shortworking branch route was introduced with terminus at Park Avenue.
  • October 2006 to August 2008: Interchange concessions with MTR was introduced with a concession amount of $0.5.
  • 1 July 2013: "Red plate" trips towards MTR Yau Ma Tei Station detoured via The Hermitage at Yan Cheung Road, with the exception of trips between 07:30 - 10:30; daily morning special trips running circular between The Hermitage and MTR Yau Ma Tei Station were also introduced. [3]
