The Kowloon Green Minibus (GMB) Route 26X is operated by Kellis Limited (金匙有限公司) (Passenger Service Licence (PSL) No. 9170C). It runs Circular between Laguna Verde and Jordan (Ferry Street), serving only during morning and afternoon peak hours.

As an express auxiliary service to Route 26, Route 26X goes directly to Jordan via the Hung Hom Bypass and Gascoigne Road on the outbound journey, and passes through Cox Road, Austin Road and Hung Hom Station on the return journey.

History[]

  • 20 October 2007: Route 26X entered service. [1]
  • 13 January 2011: As a result of the new measure of prohibition of right turns from Jordan Road westbound to Ferry Street, the Ferry Street starting from 10am, minibuses were rerouted via Jordan Road westbound, D1A(S)Road southbound, Wui Cheung Road eastbound and Canton Road northbound, then turning back to original routing on Ferry Street northbound.[2]
  • 25 June 2021: Real-time Arrival Information System was introduced to this route. [3]

  • Elderly persons aged 65 or above using Elderly Octopus or Personalised Octopus cards, Hong Kong residents aged 60 to 64 using JoyYou Card, and eligible persons with disabilities using Personalised Octopus cards with"Persons with Disabilities Status" can enjoy a flat fare of $2.0 per journey under the Concessionary Fare.
  • Passengers are required to tender exact fare in cash or by Octopus card upon boarding. No change will be given.
  • Passengers who wish to pay the two-way section fares must notify the driver before paying or a full fare will be charged instead.

Minibus interchange concession[]

Passengers may interchange from Route 26X to Tsim Sha Tsui by using the same Octopus Card to pay the full fare or $6.4 section fare for the second leg when interchange from Route 26A to Tsim Sha Tsui within 90 minutes.

Passenger may enjoy a supplement of $1.0 for the second leg when interchanging from Route 26X (Laguna Verde direction) to Route 26A (Whampoa Garden direction) within 90 min.

Notes:
  • Passengers must use the same Octopus Card to pay the fare for both the minibus and MTR to enjoy the above-mentioned interchange concession.
  • Passengers can enjoy the above transfer discount at any MTR station / minibus stop that connects to the second leg of the route.
  • The MTR ride does not apply to Light Rail, Airport Express, Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong High-Speed Rail, MTR Bus and MTR Feeder Bus services.
  • The MTR interchange concession only applies to paid rides. Unless otherwise specified, passengers using the Monthly Pass Enhanced Version or Disneyland Line Monthly Ticket (including those who have paid First Class Supplementary Fare) cannot enjoy this concession when taking the MTR at designated stations; however, if Enhanced Monthly Pass or Disneyland Resort Line Monthly Ticket holders take paid rides outside the designated stations, the concession still applies.
  • If passengers have just used the same Octopus Card for the Airport Express "Free MTR Connection," they cannot simultaneously enjoy the MTR interchange concession.
  • If both "MTR Fare Saver" and "MTR Interchange Concession" are applicable, passengers can only enjoy one of the higher discounts.
  • Higher concession amounts are available for certain GMB routes at designated MTR stations.

Minibus deployments[]

According to Transport Department's Schedule of Services, this route, together with routes 26W and 26X served by a total of 20 of 16-seater minibuses. Above these routes have a combined carrying capacity of not less than 160 passengers per direction during the busiest hour.

This route has all 16-seater minibuses until 2019. This route added 19-seater minibuses after operated 26H. When finished operating 2 series, it has got half of these minibuses transferred to that series of route, this route that increased another 16-seater buses.

Currently this route, together with Routes 26, 26A, 26H, 26W and CX1 uses total of 22 minibuses, including 14 of 16-seater minibuses and 8 of 19 seater minibuses. List:

Remarks[]

  1. Although using vehicles with different Passenger Service Licence numbers may violate the operating conditions, the Transport Department rarely pays such attention.
  2. Numbers placed after the model Toyota Coaster (if any) are only used within the transport enthusiasts, others (including the industry) does not use such names.
  3. The 5LS2 was originally a vehicle on Ming Wai Public Light Bus's New Territories Route 75, sold to Kellis in May 2020, until November 2021 before retirement.
  4. Equipped with 14 seats and 2 wheelchair parking areas with folding chairs
  5. If a wheelchair is used, the front seat must be folded to avoid overloading.
