The Kowloon Green Minibus (GMB) Route 26H is operated by Kellis Limited (金匙有限公司) (Passenger Service Licence (PSL) No. 9170C), is one of the supporting service route. It runs between Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Hung Hom Station, via Austin Road and Cox's Road.

Route 26H is only minibus route in Hong Kong with a letter H. In addition, this route is officially a circular route as listed in the according to Transport Department's Schedule of Services, but under any circumstances, all passengers must alight after the vehicle has arrived at Hung Hom Station, therefore it belongs to a fake circular route.

History[]

Commencing background[]

The Transport Department summitted the consultation document of Yau Tsim Mong District Council in June 2018, the operator of Route 26 was willing to operate the branch route running between Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Hung Hom Station, use the 3 of 19-seater minibuses to run. The Queen Elizabeth Hospital Terminus located in Nightingale Road Hospital Pathology Building, Block M[1]. That service was attained the independent Route number as 26H.

Route change history[]

  • 24 March 2019: Route 26H entered service. [2]
  • July 2019: Interchange concessions with Routes 8 and 26 were introduced.
  • 25 June 2021: Real-time Arrival Information System was introduced to this route. [3]

  • Transferring from Routes 26/26A/26X (Pay the full fare) bound for Kowloon Station or Tsim Sha Tsui to this route bound for Queen Elizabeth Hospital at Hung Hom Station can enjoy a fare reduction of second leg to $3.8;
  • Transferring from Routes 8/8P bound for Tsim Sha Tsui to this route bound for Queen Elizabeth Hospital at Hung Hom Station} can enjoy a fare reduction of second leg to $1.8.

  • Passengers must use the same Octopus Card to pay the fare for both the minibus and MTR to enjoy the above-mentioned interchange concession.
  • Passengers can enjoy the above transfer discount at any MTR station / minibus stop that connects to the second leg of the route.
  • The MTR ride does not apply to Light Rail, Airport Express, Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong High-Speed Rail, MTR Bus and MTR Feeder Bus services.
  • The MTR interchange concession only applies to paid rides. Unless otherwise specified, passengers using the Monthly Pass Enhanced Version or Disneyland Line Monthly Ticket (including those who have paid First Class Supplementary Fare) cannot enjoy this concession when taking the MTR at designated stations; however, if Enhanced Monthly Pass or Disneyland Resort Line Monthly Ticket holders take paid rides outside the designated stations, the concession still applies.
  • If passengers have just used the same Octopus Card for the Airport Express "Free MTR Connection," they cannot simultaneously enjoy the MTR interchange concession.
  • If both "MTR Fare Saver" and "MTR Interchange Concession" are applicable, passengers can only enjoy one of the higher discounts.
  • Higher concession amounts are available for certain GMB routes at designated MTR stations.

Minibus deployments[]

According to Transport Department's Schedule of Services, this route, together with routes 26W and 26X served by a total of 20 of 16-seater minibuses. Above these routes have a combined carrying capacity of not less than 160 passengers per direction during the busiest hour.

This route has all 16-seater minibuses until 2019. This route added 19-seater minibuses after operated 26H. When finished operating 2 series, it has got half of these minibuses transferred to that series of route, this route that increased another 16-seater buses.

Currently this route, together with Routes 26, 26A, 26W, 26X and CX1 uses total of 22 minibuses, including 14 of 16-seater minibuses and 8 of 19 seater minibuses. List:

  1. Although using vehicles with different Passenger Service Licence numbers may violate the operating conditions, the Transport Department rarely pays such attention.
  2. Numbers placed after the model Toyota Coaster (if any) are only used within the transport enthusiasts, others (including the industry) does not use such names.
  3. The 5LS2 was originally a vehicle on Ming Wai Public Light Bus's New Territories Route 75, sold to Kellis in May 2020, until November 2021 before retirement.
