The Kowloon Green Minibus Route 25M is operated by Fine Luck Limited (新興運有限公司) (Passenger Service Licence (PSL) No. 7704C). It runs between Kowloon Tong Station and Tung Tau Estate, via Hong Kong Baptist University, La Salle Road and Kowloon City (Shing Nam area).

History[]

  • 29 October 1993: The Transport Department launched an open tender for 10 groups of 16 new minibus routes, in which this route was grouped together with Route 17M. [1]
  • 15 October 1994: Route 25M entered service, it ran between Kowloon City (Sha Po Road) and Kowloon Tong (Dorsett Crescent) at that time.
  • Unknown: Kowloon Tong Station terminus was relocated to Kowloon Tong MTR Station (beside Suffolk Road).
  • 2002: Extended to Tung Tau Estate and converted to a circular.
  • 4 November 2006: The terminus was relocated to the Kowloon Tong (Suffolk Road) Public Transport Interchange on the ground floor of the Kowloon Tong Education Services Centre following its opening.[2]
  • May 2016: A special trip is introduced at noon on Mondays to Fridays from Academic and Administration Building of Hong Kong Baptist University to Kowloon City Plaza near Fuk Lo Tsun Road, Kowloon City.
  • Unknown: Circular operation was cancelled.
  • 30 March 2022: Real-time Arrival Information System was introduced to this route. [3]

Notes:
  • Passengers must use the same Octopus Card to pay the fare for both the minibus and MTR to enjoy the above-mentioned interchange concession.
  • Passengers can enjoy the above interchange concession at any MTR station / minibus stop that connects to the second leg of the route.
  • The MTR ride does not apply to Light Rail, Airport Express, High Speed Rail, MTR Bus and MTR Feeder Bus services.
  • The MTR interchange concession only applies to paid rides. Unless otherwise specified, passengers using the Monthly Pass Enhanced or Disneyland Resort Line Monthly Pass (including those who have paid First Class Supplementary Fare) cannot enjoy this concession when taking the MTR at designated stations; however, if Enhanced Monthly Pass or Disneyland Resort Line Monthly Ticket holders take paid rides outside the designated stations, the concession still applies.
  • If passengers have just used the same Octopus Card for the Airport Express "Free MTR Connection," they cannot simultaneously enjoy the MTR interchange concession.
  • If both "MTR Fare Saver" and "MTR Interchange Concession" are applicable, passengers can only enjoy one of the higher discounts.
  • Higher concession amounts are available for certain GMB routes at designated MTR stations.

Minibus deployments[]

According to the Transport Department's Schedule of Services, a total of 13 minibuses are required to serve this route, of which 9 minibuses are 19-seaters. It has a total capacity of not less than 187 passengers in each direction during the peak hour.

Related incidents[]

  • 12 August 2013: At around 7am, a Toyota Coaster (LK3705) towards Tung Tau Estate hit a shop entrance after colliding with a coach at the junction of Nga Tsin Wai Road and Junction Road, resulting in the minibus driver's death and 1 injures.[14]
  • 13 February 2015: At around 7pm, a Toyota Coaster (GK9209) towards Kowloon Tong Station hit an old woman near Sha Po Road near Carpenter Road, and she was hospitalised and passed away.[15]
