The Kowloon Green Minibus Route 17M is operated by Fine Luck Limited (新興運有限公司) (Passenger Service Licence (PSL) No. 7704C). It runs circular between MTR Prince Edward Station and Kowloon Hospital, and provides MTR feeder services for passengers having medical consultation or visiting patients at the Kowloon Hospital.

Fine Luck also operates Hospital Authority staff service between MTR Prince Edward Station and Rehabilitation Block Kowloon Hospital during peak hours only, supplementing the service of this route.

History[]

  • 29 October 1993: The Transport Department launched an open tender for 10 groups of 16 new minibus routes, in which this route was grouped together with Route 25M[1]
  • 25 September 1994: Route 17M entered service.
  • Early 2016: Special departure from Kowloon Hospital to Tung Choi Street was introduced at PM peak hours on Mondays to Fridays.
  • 30 March 2022: Real-time Arrival Information System was introduced to this route. [2]

  • Passengers must use the same Octopus Card to pay the fare for both the minibus and MTR to enjoy the above-mentioned interchange concession.
  • Passengers can enjoy the above interchange concession at any MTR station / minibus stop that connects to the second leg of the route.
  • The MTR ride does not apply to Light Rail, Airport Express, High-Speed Rail, MTR Bus and MTR Feeder Bus services.
  • The MTR interchange concession only applies to paid rides. Unless otherwise specified, passengers using the Monthly Pass Enhanced or Disneyland Resort Line Monthly Pass (including those who have paid First Class Supplementary Fare) cannot enjoy this concession when taking the MTR at designated stations; however, if Enhanced Monthly Pass or Disneyland Resort Line Monthly Ticket holders take paid rides outside the designated stations, the concession still applies.
  • If passengers have just used the same Octopus Card for the Airport Express "Free MTR Connection," they cannot simultaneously enjoy the MTR interchange concession.
  • If both "MTR Fare Saver" and "MTR Interchange Concession" are applicable, passengers can only enjoy one of the higher discounts.
  • Higher concession amounts are available for certain GMB routes at designated MTR stations.

Related incidents[]

  • 4 September 2013: At about 2pm, a Toyota Coaster towards MTR Prince Edward Station was hit by a lorry at Mong Kok Prince Edward Road West and Waterloo Road on the left side of the body, leaving six people injured.[13]
  • 29 May 2015: At around 7am, a Toyota Coaster (LY5326) towards Kowloon Hospital hit the fence and todded along the sidewalk after colliding with a taxi at Argyle Street in Mongkok, and crashed into the construction site of the Highways Department before stopping, leaving the taxi driver injured.[14]
  • 4 June 2017: At 12:30 pm, a Toyota Coaster (LL9155) towards MTR Prince Edward Station burst into fire when it reached Prince Edward Road West near St Teresa's Hospital. The fire was extinguished by firefighters who arrived at the scene. No one was injured in the incident, but the vehicle was severely burnt.[15]
