The Kowloon Green Minibus (GMB) Route 16 is operated by Success Transportation Limited (成功運輸有限公司) (Passenger Service Licence (PSL) No. 11315C) under Ma Ah Muk. It runs between Ping Shek and Choi Wan (Jat's Incline), passing through Choi Wan Plaza. It is mainly used to connect residents of Choi Wan Estate and Choi Fai Estate to MTR Choi Hung Station and Ngau Chi Wan Market, and also provides convenience of access for the teachers and students of Good Hope School.

According to official information from the Transport Department, the terminus of this route is located at Choi Fai Estate, with Ping Shek Estate as the loop point; however, in daily operation, it is just the opposite, and passengers must get off at Ping Shek. The content of this entry is subject to actual operation.

In addition, Route 16 has a short-working special service during the morning rush hour on weekdays, running one-way from Ngan Ho Path to Ping Shek (Podium of 8 Clear Water Bay Road).

History[]

  • 15 July 1983: Route 16 entered service, running between Tak Wong Kong (Choi Wan Estate) and Ping Shek. [2] [3]
  • Unknown: A special morning service was added, running from King Sun House, Choi Wan Estate to Ping Shek Public Transport Interchange.
  • End of July 2001: Octopus cards were accepted for payment of fares.
  • 2002: The route was re-tendered together with Routes 7 and 16A, which were also operated by Shui Fat Investment (Passenger Service Licence (PSL) No. 4710C) [4], and Success Transportation Limited under Ma Ah Muk won the operating right for these routes.
