The New Territories Bus Route 49M is operated by Kowloon Motor Bus (KMB). It runs circular between Tsing Yi (Ching Fu Court) and Tsing Yi Station, via Tsing King Road and Tsing Yi Heung Sze Wui Road.
History[]
- 19 March 2023: Route 49M commenced service.[1]
- 2 May 2023: Service hours was extended to 06:30-22:30.[2][3]
- 3 September 2023: Service hours was extended to 06:30-00:00.[4][5]
- 2 November 2024: A new stop was added at "Ching Fu Shopping Centre" on Tsing Yi Road for Ching Fu Court direction. [6]

During the initial commencement, Route 49M was deployed with Volvo B9TLs (AVBWU, AVG). After a week, the route was switched to use Volvo B8L 12.8m (V6X) entirely. In 2023 6 November, this route was approved by the Transport Department to be served by BED double-decker electric buses, which later became scheduled on this route. In July 2024, the diesel double-decker buses on this route were replaced by Enviro500 MMC 12.8m (E6X). |
