History[]
Opening Background[]
In the 1998-1999 Bus Route Development Programme, in response to the upcoming settlement of Sheung Tak Estate, the authorities proposed to launch this route in April 1998, to and from Shang Tak Terminus and Jordan Road Ferry. Initially, the service was limited to morning peak hours, with 5 buses planned to be used. By August and October of the same year, it was upgraded to a two-way service and a full-day service during peak hours. At the same time, the number of vehicles was gradually increased, and finally in July of the following year, it cooperated with Kwong Ming Court to increase the number of buses to 13 due to the occupation rate.
In terms of routing, this route passes through via Road L463 (Currently Tong Ming Street), Road P2 (Po Shun Road), Road D4 (Po Yap Road), and Road P1 (Wan Po Road) within Tseung Kwan O District for both directions, serving the area around Tseung Kwan O MTR Station in the future; within the Tsim Sha Tsui area, it would pass through Chatham Road South in both directions, not Nathan Road.
