The Kowloon Urban Bus Route 13X is operated by Kowloon Motor Bus (KMB). It runs between Po Tat and Tsim Sha Tsui East, observing Sau Mau Ping Estate, Hoi Lai Estate, Lok Wah Village, Kowloon Bay, taking Kai Tak Tunnel, East Kowloon Corridor directly to Hung Hom (Chatham Road North) and Jordan.
During periods when Route 224X is not in service, that is, non-peak hours from Monday to Saturday and all day on holidays, Route 13X will detour via Kai Yip Estate.
History[]
- 16 May 1988: Route 13X was put into service, running between Sai Mau Ping Central and Star Ferry Pier.
- 8 January 1990: Rerouted via the entire section of Hiu Kwong Street to Sau Mau Ping Road for Sau Mau Ping (Central) direction, omitting a section of Sau Ming Road near Sau Mau Ping South Estate and Sau Mau Path.
- 31 March 1991: Half-fare concession for children and section fares from Kai Shing Street to Sau Mau Ping Central were introduced.
- 2 November 1995: Sau Mau Ping terminus was moved from Sau Ming Road near Sau Mau Ping Estate Block 33 to Sau Mau Ping (Central) Bus Terminus of Route 1A.
- 20 April 2002: Extended from Sau Mau Ping (Central) to Po Tat. [1]
- 16 May 2002: An additional stop at "Hong Ning Road Park" on Hong Ning Road was added for both directions. [2]
- 20 July 2002: Air-conditioned buses were deployed on this route for the first time and the time of the first trip from Po Tat was changed to 05:45. [3]
- 10 September 2002: An additional stop at "Hong Kong Cultural Centre" on Salisbury Road was added for Star Ferry direction. [2]

- Upgraded to full-day service every day, and all trips during non-peak hours on weekdays and holidays were detoured via Richland Gardens and Kai Yip Estate;
- Tsim Sha Tsui terminus was relocated to Tsim Sha Tsui East.
- 9 December 2002: An additional stop at "Hong Kong Auxiliary Police Force Headquarters" on Kai Cheung Road during peak hours on weekdays for both directions. [2]
- 27 May 2005: Po Tat-bound trips via Kai Yip Estate detoured via Kai Shing Street and Kai Wah Street, with an additional stop at "Skyline Tower" on Kai Wah Street. [5]
- 9 February 2007: Upgraded to full air-conditioned service. [6]
- 2 May 2008: An additional stop at "Richland Gardens Shopping Centre" on Wang Kwong Road was added and the original "Richland Gardens Shopping Centre stop" was renamed "Kai Lai Road".[7]
- 3 November 2008: Departure from Po Tat at 07:59 on weekdays omitted "Cooke Street Hung Hom" bus stop. [8][9]
- 3 September 2009: All trips to Tsim Sha Tsui omitted "Wah Fung Court" bus stop on Hip Wo Street. [10]
- 16 December 2009: Headways during morning peak hours were enhanced and every other trips omitted "Cooke Street Hung Hom" bus stop during the period. [11]
- 10 June 2013: Most trips from Po Tat during peak hours omitted "Cooke Street Hung Hom" bus stop. [12]
- 30 December 2013: An additional one-way special trip at 07:55 from Choi Fook to Tsim Sha Tsui East via Choi Wing Road and Choi Ha Road was introduced. [13][14]
