Citybus currently has a total of 1,135 Enviro500 MMC[1], 733 of which were purchased by Citybus (42 of which were once transferred to NWFB from 2017 to 2020 and returned to Citybus in response to the 2023 Citybus and NWFB Franchised Bus Network Merger) , and the other 402 vehicles were introduced from NWFB in response to the 2023 Citybus and NWFB Franchised Bus Network Merger. The details are as follows:
- 52 11.3M buses with the fleet number prefix 40, formerly part of the New World First Bus fleet (purchased in two batches: 12+40);
- 240 12M buses with fleet numbers prefixed with 55, 56, 57 and 58. Part of the former New World First Bus fleet (Purchased in 4 batches: 86+50+90+14);
- 42 12M buses with fleet numbers prefixed with 57 and 58, formerly part of the New World First Bus (Purchased in 2 batches: 30+12);
- 216 12M buses with fleet numbers prefixed with 83, 84 and 85 (Purchased in 6 batches: 1+40+104+40 + 10+11+10, of which the third batch of 30 buses[2] was once resold to New World First Bus and returned to the city in response to the 2023 Citybus and NWFB Franchised Bus Network Merger);
- 30 12M buses with fleet numbers prefixed with 85 made specifically for the North Lantau Bus Routes (12 buses [3] were once resold to New World First Bus, and returned in response to the 2023 Citybus and NWFB Franchised Bus Network Merger);
- 66 12M coaches with fleet numbers prefixed with 80 (Cityflyer Fleet);
- 59 11.3M urban buses with fleet numbers prefixed with 91 (Purchased in 2 batches: 49+10);
- 110 12.8M buses with fleet numbers prefixed with 61 and 62, formerly part of the New World First Bus Fleet (Purchased in 4 batches: 30+46+22+12).
- 202 12.8M urban buses with fleet numbers prefixed with 63, 64, and 67 (Purchased in 7 batches: 1+84+29+30+16+38+4);
- 88 12.8M special buses with fleet numbers prefixed with 65 used on North Lantau Bus Routes (Purchased in 4 batches: 49+19+15+5);
- 72 12.8M coaches with fleet number prefixed with 68 (Cityflyer Fleet) (Purchased in 4 batches: 12+25+7+28).
The Transport Department has vehicle restrictions on Citybus' Enviro500 MMC 12.8M Fleet:
- The 63XX, 64XX, and 67XX can only run on Routes 1, 1P, 5X, 8X, 10, 19P, 20 Series[4], 22D[4], 22M[4], 50[5], 55[5], 77 Series, 79X[4], 102 Series, 117, 118 Series, 170 Series, 182 Series, 307 Series (Excluding 907B, 907C, and N307), 606 Series, 608[4], 619 Series, 621, 629, 671 Series, 681, 681P, 690, 690P, 780 Series, 788, 789, 930 Series[6], 933, 950, 952 Series, 955, 962 Series, 967 Series, 969 Series, 976 Series, 981P, 982X (Limited to departures from Yu Chui Court), 989, B3 Series[7], B7, B8, N8X, and X8;
- As for buses 6501-6588 and the 68XX, they can only run on Cityflyer[8] and North Lantau Bus Routes[9], Route B5[10], 952, 962 and 969 Series, other than Routes A10, A17, N952, N962, N969, and NA10.

- 6393-6443, 6453-6459, 8320-8360, 8417-8419, 8421-8436, 8438-8442, 8444-8459, 8461-8483, 8537-8546, 8547-8557: Chai Wan Depot (E)
- 6300-6384, 6444-6452, 6460-6490, 6498-6499, 6700-6701, 8491-8506, 8558-8567: Tuen Mun Depot (N)
- 6385-6392, 6491-6497, 8460, 8484-8490: West Kowloon Depot (N)
- 8391-8416, 8420, 8437, 8443: Chai Wan Depot (E) and Tuen Mun Depot (N) (Priority is given to Operation Department 2 and routes belonging to Depot 1, so these buses are labeled with both E and N Depot logos)

Continuously restarting the Rear Axle Steering function[]
When issuing the license plates of 6300[17], 8009-8065[18], 8325-8360[19], 9104-9105, 9109, 9111-9148[20], they were equipped with a Rear Axle Steering function, and a "Rear Axle Steering" sticker was stuck next to the cab to remind the bus captain[21]. Due to frequent accidents, except for 6300/SV9154, Alexander Dennis Asia Pacific Branch has disabled this function since October 2013[22][23], with the relevant components being dismantled and all relevant stickers being removed.
Until 2014, 8474-8506 and 8509-8536 pre-activated the Rear Axle Steering function for the first time [24], and then Citybus successively activated related functions for vehicles already in service.
Vehicle Improvement Works[]
Citybus began to carry out a number of improvement projects on batches of the Enviro500 MMC buses that have been put into service since February 2017, including:
- Guardrails added to the alighting doors of all buses to ensure the safety of passengers;
- In view of the "wheel throwing" incident that occurred in Citybus in 2016, all the hoods were removed, the center of the hoods was cut off and reinstalled so that the engineering department could check the wheel screws, so the hoods turned into rims;
- In response to the reorganization of Chow Tai Fook Group on 15 November 2016, the remaining equity was sold to NWS Holdings[25], so the "Chow Tai Fook Enterprises and NWS Holdings" stickers were removed and replace by a sticker reading "Members of NWS Holdings" were affixed to the left[26], but due to the sale of NWS Group’s transportation business in August 2020, the “Member of NWS Group” sticker have also been gradually removed.
- If most passenger seats on buses put into service starting from 2016 were not equipped with three-point seat belts in advance, the upper passenger seats would gradually be replaced with passenger seats equipped with three-point safety belts.
