Diamond Hill Station Public Transport Interchange (鑽石山站公共運輸交匯處)[1], located on the ground floor of Plaza Hollywood, No. 3 Lung Poon Street, Diamond Hill, Wong Tai Sin District, Kowloon, connected to MTR Diamond Hill Station Exit C2. It is an indoor public transport interchange with a bus terminus, a green minibus terminus and a taxi stand, with the vehicle entrances and exits located on Lung Poon Street.
KMB and Citybus once called this stop "Diamond Hill Station" (鑽石山站). In May 2019, KMB added the word "Bus Terminus" (鑽石山鐵路站總站) after the stop name. Before July 2017 and rail merger, KMB used to call it "Diamond Hill Railway Station B/T" and "Diamond Hill MTR Station B/T" respectively (鑽石山地鐵站總站). In addition, When the Citybus Stop Announcement System announces this stop, the screen displays " Diamond Hill Station , Plaza Hollywood" (鑽石山站、荷里活廣場).
History[]
1st generation Diamond Hill Station Terminus[]
The Diamond Hill MTR Bus Terminus was put into service after MTR Modified Initial System commenced operation in October 1979. It was located between Po Kong Village Road and the junction of the northeast of Lung Cheung Road, which is the current location of Lung Wan House Lung Poon Court, surrounding Diamond Hill MTR Station Exit A1, which is equipped with five open-air lay-by terminus. When the MTR connection routes 3M and 91M were commenced in December of the same year, this place was immediately used as the terminus; Route 11M, which was put into service in 1983, also terminates here.
On 7 May 1991, the above-mentioned open-air terminus was closed to cooperate with the government to take back the land for the construction of the third phase of Lung Poon Court (now Lung Wan House). At that time, the terminus of KMB Route 3 was moved to Lung Poon Street roadside, and Route 3M was changed to operate circular with Lung Cheung Road roadside as the circular point, and then on 15 September, Choi Hung MTR Station was used as the connecting MTR station, and Diamond Hill was no longer served. By 1994, the terminus of Route 3 was moved to Fung Tak Road opposite Lung Poon Court. On 29 August 1997 Cross-Harbour Bus Route 671 was put into service, and the bus stop outside Lung Poon Court on Fung Tak Road was also used as the terminus, with the bus company calling it "Diamond Hill Bus Terminus" (鑽石山總站).
Existing Diamond Hill Station Terminus[]
In 1997, Plaza Hollywood, a large shopping mall under the Wharf Group, was completed and opened, and the public transport interchange located on its ground floor was also opened on 2 November in the same year [2][3]. The terminus of Route 671 and all the intermediate stops of the Tate’s Cairn Tunnel routes were moved to the public transport interchange., and this stop is the last stop of the Tate’s Cairn Tunnel route towards the New Territories in Kowloon. Buses head directly to the Tate's Cairn Tunnel along the branch road beside Tai Hom Road after leaving the terminus. At the same time, the original bus route to and from Sai Kung District with Choi Hung or Choi Hung MTR Station as the terminus, and the KMB Route 11 which originally terminated at Wong Tai Sin was also been extended to the new terminus at Diamond Hill, and KMB has also launched 286M to and from Ma On Shan Town Centre on the same day, taking this stop as the circular point. All these actions made the Public Transport Interchange of Diamond Hill MTR Station replace Choi Hung Bus Terminus and become the largest bus terminus in Wong Tai Sin District.
Every Ching Ming Festival and the first day of Chung Yeung Festival, KMB will operate a special route 3S, which circulates between Diamond Hill Cemetery, but its "Diamond Hill Station" terminus is not located at the public transport interchange but instead opposite the vehicle entrance and exit of this stop, on the west side of Lung Poon Street.
