The Cross-Harbour Special Bus Route (Overnight Service) N182 is operated by Kowloon Motor Bus and Citybus. It runs between Central (Macau Ferry) and Kwong Yuen[Remark 1] via Admiralty, Wan Chai, Causeway Bay, Ho Man Tin (Princess Margaret Road), Kowloon Tong (Waterloo Road), Tai Wai, Sha Tin Wai, and Yuen Chau Kok, using the Cross-Harbour Tunnel and Lion Rock Tunnels to run between Hong Kong Island and Sha Tin.
The service area of this route is wider than its daytime version, Route 182, which not only covers Siu Lek Yuen, but also goes deeper into Causeway Bay Sogo Department Store and St. Paul's Hospital before entering the Cross-Harbour Tunnel in the direction of Sha Tin.
History[]
- 17 December 2001: Route N182 enters service, running between Central (Macau Ferry) and Shatin (Yu Chui Court).[1]
- 18 February 2003:
- Extended from Yu Chui Court to Kwong Yuen;[2]
- Buses heading to Central were rerouted via Wan Chai Interchange to head from the Cross-Harbour Tunnel to Gloucester Road, omitting Victoria Park Road and Fashion Walk on Inner Gloucester Road.
- 1 July 2006: A new 20% fare concession on same-day return trips for three years was added.[3][4]
- 17 April 2016: KMB installed a system to check the Estimated Time of Arrival of their buses on this route.[5]
- 28 May 2018: Citybus installed a system to check the Estimated Time of Arrival of their buses on this route.[6]

- 19 June 2006: When a Citybus Volvo Olympian heading towards Kwong Yuen reached the junction of Waterloo Road and Cornwall Street, it failed to stop and crashed into the private car and taxi in front, 4 People got hurt.[7]
- 18 July 2015: At 2:49 a.m., a KMB Enviro500 (ATE) bound for Central (Macau Ferry) collided with a taxi on Tai Chung Kiu Road, sending five people to the hospital.[8]
- 7 February 2023: At 2AM, when a seven-passenger car drove on Princess Margaret Road near the foot of the Pui Ching Road overpass, it suspected that the brakes were not functioning and violently hit a bus on this route in the direction of Kwong Yuen. The rear of the Volvo B9TL 12M bus (AVBWU616／UY5246) that is loading and unloading passengers at the Auxiliary Medical Service bus stop. The rear of the bus involved in the accident was slightly damaged. The female driver of the seven-passenger car was trapped for a time with minor injuries and did not need to be sent to the hospital after initial treatment.[9][10]
Fire incidents[]
- 16 September 2006: At nearly 1am, a Citybus Volvo Olympian (425/GH478) heading to Kwong Yuen drove along Gloucester Road in Causeway Bay to Sino Plaza when smoke suddenly erupted from the bottom of the bus and a fire broke out. No one was injured in the incident.[11]
