Hong Kong Buses Wiki

The Cross-Harbour Bus Route 619 is jointly operated by Kowloon Motor Bus (KMB) and Citybus. It runs between Shun Lee and Central (Macau Ferry), via Ngau Tau Kok, Kwun Tong Town Centre, MTR Lam Tin Station, Eastern Harbour Crossing, North Point, Fortress Hill, Causeway Bay and Wan Chai.

This route was previously Route 119 via the Cross-Harbour Tunnel and was subsequently diverted to the Eastern Harbour Crossing in 1995.

History[]

Commencing background[]

In response to the imminent completion of the Eastern Harbour Crossing (EHC), CMB and KMB proposed in the 1987-1988 Bus Route Development Programme to introduce Route 101E between Shun Lee and Central as a prototype of this route.[1]

In 1994, KMB's consultant proposed a number of urban route rationalisations, including the splitting of Route 119 into Route 115 via the Cross-Harbour Tunnel (CHT) to serve Kowloon City and Route 619 via the EHC to cover Kwun Tong.
