The Cross-Harbour Bus Route 107 is operated jointly by Kowloon Motor Bus (KMB) and Citybus. It runs between Wah Kwai Estate and Kowloon Bay,[Note 1] via Tin Wan, Aberdeen, Wong Chuk Hang, Aberdeen Tunnel, Causeway Bay (Canal Road West→/Cannon Street←), and Kowloon Hung Hom, To Kwa Wan, Ma Tau Wai, Kowloon City, San Po Kong, taking Cross-Harbour Tunnel to and from Hong Kong and Kowloon.

The two bus companies on Route 107 do not clearly define their respective operating hours, and there is no special rule in the way of dispatching buses, which is rare among the jointly-operated Cross-Harbour Bus Routes; it is also the first batch of Citybus Cross-Harbour Bus Routes, together with Route 170.

Bus Deployment Evolution History[]

At the initial stage of service of Route 107, KMB mainly used Dennis Jubilant (N), and CMB used Daimler Fleetline (LF) and Leyland Victory II (LV). In mid-1988, both buses were replaced with three-axle buses., with KMB deploying Leyland Olympian11m (S3BL), and CMB used 11m and 12m Dennis Condor (DL, DM) And MCW Metrobus (ML) mainly. In 1991, CMB introduced air-conditioned service on their own in 1991, mainly using Dennis Condor (DA). At the beginning of 1993, KMB also introduced air-conditioned service, deploying Leland Olympian 11m (AL) and Dennis Dragon 11m (AD).

In 1 September 1993, Citybus replaced CMB to operate this Route, and changed to full air-conditioned service together with KMB, with Citybus using the newly landed bus Leyland Olympian and Volvo Olympian 12m (3XX-6XX) as the main vehicles. In 1995, KMB deployed Volvo Olympian 12m (3AV, mainly GN and GP license plates) on this route.

In 2001, Low-floor service was introduced to KMB departures, mainly using Volvo Super Olympian12m (3ASV), and in 2002 the whole route was entirely served by low-floor buses. In 2006, KMB dispatched straight staircase buses, using 2 Volvo B9TL 12m (AVBE12/MP8201, AVBE13/MP8222). Until 2012, it was replaced by 2 Volvo B9TL (AVBW37/MK8215, AVBW38/MK9697) with Wright Eclipse Gemini body, the former of which was withdrawn due to a traffic accident, and the latter was also redeployed to Route 203E in December 2015 because the passenger capacity was not enough to cope with its huge passenger volume of this route.

For Citybus, in the early stage they mainly deployed Leyland Olympian 12m and Volvo Olympian 12m buses on this route. Until Leyland Olympian and Volvo Olympian retired one after another, Enviro500/Enviro500 MMC (81XX- 84xx) gradually joined this route.

Since September 2015, KMB deployed Enviro500 MMC (ATENU) buses but withdrew in December, and reassigned the same type of bus with Facelift body to operate at the end of the same month. In May 2016, the whole route was entirely operated with straight staircase buses.

From August 2020, KMB added the high-capacity version of the Volvo B9TL 12m (AVBWU) to this route, and used this model on the entire route until March of the following year.
