Hong Kong Buses Wiki

Cheung Hang Bus Terminus (長亨巴士總站, KMB and LWB Location Code 長亨) is an open-air franchised bus and green minibus terminus with lay-bys located outside Hang Yip House Cheung Hang Estate and Cheung Hang Community Hall on Liu To Road, Tsing Yi, Kwai Tsing District, New Territories.

Cheung Wang Bus Terminus is located not far away to the north of this terminus, which together serves residents of Cheung Hang Estate, Cheung Wang Estate and Mount Haven on Liu To Hill.

History[]

Cheung Hang Estate, a Housing Authority rental housing estate on Liu To Hill in northern Tsing Yi, was occupied in 1990, and the bus terminus was gazetted on 4 January 1991[1] to supplement the Tsing Yan Bus Terminus (later renamed Cheung Wang), which had been completed in 1988. 2 days later (6 January), Route 42C was introduced, and Route 42A was relocated from Tsing Yan to the site.

There were few changes to the bus routes at this station, except for the discontinuation of Residents' Bus Route 401R and its successor New Territories GMB Route 405A to Tsing Yi Ferry Pier, and the extension of KMB Route N241, which used to terminate at Cheung Hang, to Cheung Wang in mid-2009. And on 26 November 2016 the return services of Route 43C was extended to this stop.

Surrounding facilities[]

This station is roughly in the central part of Cheung Hang Estate, adjoining Cheung Hang Shopping Centre in the south; Cheung Hang Community Hall and Hang Yip House in the east; Cheung Hang Estate Phase 2 Car Park and Hang Chi House in the north, with a footbridge connecting the former to Cheung Wang Estate (near Wang Man House); and Liu To Road Playground in the west.

There is a KMB Canteen next to the entrance of the car park of the estate in the north, which was leased by the Housing Department to the Kwai Tsing District Councillor of the Democratic Party, Mr Lam Lap-chee, as his councillor's office after the closure of the Canteen. After Mr Lam lost his seat in the 2015 District Council Election, the building was left vacant for a while and in 2017, the building became the district office of Mr Cheng Chung Tai, a member of the Legislative Council, and was opened on 1 May.
