Castle Peak Road - San Hui is one of the sections of Castle Peak Road, connecting Pui To Road to the south and Siu Hong Station (South) access road to the north. KMB has prefixed all stops along the entire Castle Peak Road with CA07.
Castle Peak Road - San Hui is bounded by the Castle Peak Bay section to the south and the Lingnan section to the north.
History[]
Castle Peak Road – San Hui is one of Tuen Mun District's principal arterial roads, serving as an early link to the urban centre. In 1968, Castle Peak Road was subdivided, with the section between the 20 milestone and Hing Ping Road designated as the San Hui Section.[1]
During the 1980s, to facilitate the construction of Tuen Mun Road, the authorities relocated the San Hui section eastwards in two phases. The first phase, spanning from Rose Dale Gardens to the roundabout near the LR Fung Tei Stop, was relocated in 1982. This section retained the designation "San Hui" and was formally gazetted on 10 January 1992.[2][3] The second stage, between the roundabout and Lam Tei section, was relocated in 1994 and redesignated as Lingnan section on 20 January the following year[4], making the San Hui section no longer connected with Lam Tei section thereafter. Both former road sections at San Hui were converted into Tuen Mun Road, with the amendment gazetted on 9 December 1994[5] and the original roundabout was subsequently demolished.
Following the construction of the West Rail Line, the junction between the San Hui and Lingnan sections was relocated to the Siu Hong Station (South) access road. The Light Rail track between Hoh Fuk Tong and Fung Tei runs parallel to the reconstructed San Hui section.
