Castle Peak Road - Ping Shan (青山公路－屏山段) is a section of Castle Peak Road beginning at the access road leading to Tai Tao Tsuen and extends eastward to Ma Miu Road and Yuen Long Tai Yuk Road. KMB has prefixed all stops along the entire Castle Peak Road with CA07.
The Ping Shan section is bounded by the Hung Shui Kiu section to the west and the Yuen Long section to the east.
History[]
Castle Peak Road has a long history. The sections from Lam Tei to Ping Shan were once the main routes connecting Yuen Long District to the urban areas. However, the areas along these routes were predominantly rural villages, resulting in very few passengers boarding or alighting at these stops. In 1968, Castle Peak Road was divided, with the section between The Pimples and Ma Miu Road designated as the Ping Shan section.[1]
The villages along the Ping Shan section fall within the boundaries of Ping Shan Heung. Although the Shui Pin Wai area has been developed and parts of it belong to the Yuen Long Town constituency, the road section in question is still referred to as the Ping Shan section.
