Castle Peak Road - Lingnan (青山公路－嶺南段) is one of the sections of Castle Peak Road, connecting Siu Hong Station (South) access road in the south and Lam Tei Interchange in the north. KMB has prefixed all stops along the entire Castle Peak Road with CA07.
Castle Peak Road - Lingnan is bounded by the San Hui section to the south and the Lam Tei section to the north.
History[]
Castle Peak Road – Lingnan is an extension of Castle Peak Road added in the 1990s to coincide with the construction of Tuen Mun Road.
In the past, the approximate route of Castle Peak Road north of Rose Garden ran through the site of the present-day Tuen Mun Church of Christ in China to the roundabout junction with Kei Tai Road[Remark 1], then continued north along the present-day Tuen Mun Road section directly to Lam Tei, which at that time was part of the San Hui section.
Subsequently, with the development of Tuen Mun, the San Hui section underwent two phases of eastward relocation. The first phase, spanning from Rose Dale Gardens to the roundabout near the LR Fung Tei Stop, retained the name "San Hui" after its 1982 relocation. The second stage, between that roundabout and Lam Tei Section, was relocated in 1994 and renamed Lingnan Section on 20 January the following year[1], taking its name from Lingnan University which moved into Tuen Mun that same year, 1995.[2] Both former sections at San Hui were converted into Tuen Mun Road, with the original roundabout demolished.
Following the construction of the West Rail Line, the Siu Hong Station (South) access became the connecting points of both sections.
