Austin Station (Jordan Road) (佐敦道柯士甸站) is a bus stop is located outside the Hong Kong West Kowloon Station on westbound Jordan Road, Yau Tsim Mong District, Kowloon, opposite the West Kowloon Station Bus Terminus, between Wai Man Road and Lin Cheung Road. It is a roadside bus stop.
When the stop announcement system of KMB buses running on Route 296D announces this stop, it will display and play "Jordan Road", while other KMB routes will display and play "Austin Station". They are all different from the actual stop names.
Surrounding Facilities[]
This stop is located outside the Hong Kong West Kowloon Station of the High Speed Rail, where the City Golf Club closed in early 2010.
History[]
Over the past few years, construction has continued around the bus stop, and the name of the stop has been changed several times to match the changes in nearby landmarks. Before the closure of the Jordan Road Ferry Bus Terminus, KMB and Citybus, together with the eastbound branch opposite, were known as "Jordan Road Ferry" and "Jordan Road Ferry Bus Terminus" respectively, while Citybus and NWFB were called "City Golf Club" and "Lin Cheung Road" before August 2010 and around 2006 respectively.
Citybus and NWFB subsequently called this stop "Austin Station" to this day. When its stop reporting system announces this stop, it will list "Bravobus Stopreporter Bus Logo Austin Station Bravobus Stopreporter MTR Icon, High Speed Rail West Kowloon Station Bravobus Stopreporter MTR Icon" (Austin Station Bravobus Stopreporter MTR Icon, HSR West Kowloon Station Bravobus Stopreporter MTR Icon). [Note 1] KMB once changed the name of the bus stop to "Jordan Road". In fact, after the completion of the West Kowloon reclamation project, Jordan Road has become 1.4 kilometers long. There are several bus stops on the street itself, reflecting the There was a problem with the naming method of bus stops. It was not until late August 2020 that Citybus and New World First Bus changed the name of the westbound stop to its current name, and the eastbound stop was renamed after West Kowloon Station. Later, KMB will rename the stop in January 2022. The name is preceded by the road name to avoid confusion with the sub-stop of the same name on Canton Road.
Affected by the West Kowloon Station Bus Terminus Project, most bus routes terminating at Kowloon Station will no longer have stops here starting from 2 January, 2011.
