Austin Road West (柯士甸道西) bus stop is located outside the Arts Plaza Building (under construction) on the westbound side of Austin Road West in the Kowloon Station Commercial & Residential Area, Yau Tsim Mong District, Kowloon, opposite the International Commerce Centre and near the Arts Plaza flyover. It is an on-street bus stop.
When the Citybus Stop Announcement System announces this stop, the screen displays "Austin Road West, West Kowloon Cultural District" (
柯士甸道西、西九文化區).
History[]
This stop opened on 17 September 2005[1][2]. At the time, only KMB Route 8 and Kowloon GMB Route 77M stopped here.
On 20 January 2011, due to the road closure measures related to the construction of the West Kowloon terminus of the High Speed Rail, the Nga Cheung Road bus stop was cancelled. Many routes with Kowloon Railway Station as the terminus temporarily added stops at this stop as compensation. Most of the routes were rediverted back to the stop at Nga Cheung Road on 2 February 2016.
This stop was originally located on the side of the Nga Cheung Road roundabout and was moved to its current location in April 2023.
Surrounding facilities[]
This stop is adjacent to the Art Square Building (under construction), M+ Conservation and Storage Facility, West Kowloon Cultural District Authority Building and West Kowloon Art Park. Passengers can also reach Elements Shopping Centre and International Commerce Centre via the pedestrian footbridge.
